On my 273 commando, I used 2-inch all the way to the rear bumper, with the correct bends and angle cut at the tailpipe. I can't see me ever going over 2.5" because I don't think I'm realistically ever going to push that much out. I'm "keeping it real". :D

I second that, big time. I think their sound sucks. They sound tinny to me when revving up through the gears. Glasspacks? Hell yeah. Dumped right before the rear axle with chrome flared turn-downs. But I like them a bit longer, like 24". Let me repeat......Flowmasters suck!! :finga:

I'm in love! I want a pair! I was always waiting for a repro set to appear. Not everyone wants headers. They're heat radiators along with the ground clearance problems.

I agree with this too......although, I DO like mufflers that are dumped under the car, I dig that resonance but you need to have quieter mufflers. I'm running hemi mufflers dumped before the rear axle......with my cammed 340, it just sounds bad-***......sort of whispery and raspy.

Headers radiate heat like a big dog too!.....so I'm not too wild about them for that reason. And when I have headers on my car, and they get dented on the bottom, I hate 'em. But.....both of my Cudas have headers. I've gotta go for max power. So.......now you ready to sell me those...

And many times, the ones you hear are blown out......and running 2" exhaust pipe, which makes it sound more "tinny" or "raspy".

Again, I recall one of my many magazines I've read where they did a dyno shoot-out on all different mufflers......and I believe glasspacks were within only a few H.P. of the other top performance brands like Flowmaster. You can also choose the length of glasspack according to how loud you want...

I prefer glass packs or those Dynomax "straight-thru" type of mufflers, kind of like just resonators, then dumped near the rear axle, and then even add some chrome flare tips at the ends. I love the resonance, the hum, and the amplification of the exhaust sound from under the car. I've got...

That's crazy awesome!......Man, can you imagine the sound with the windows down at full throttle?........I know this may be a stupid question, but.....it's not going to see any street action at all now?
