I would think that you should be able to use pre 65 brakes if it truly is an 8 3/4. Are you sure that it is an 8 3/4 and not the early 8 1/4 (from the 50s, it looks just like an 8 3/4)? If you don't have park brake capability with the rear brakes the rear end must have come from something in...

    New to Mopar!

Welcome aboard and nice car! As has been mentioned, any questions that you could possibly have can be answered here. Looks like it is sitting quite low in the front, have the height adjusters been backed off or does it have torsion bar / crossmember issues? There are some repair parts available...

54 Plymouth 6 voltage system to a 12 voltage system

Yes, that is correct. Honestly, it is not like i drive the car in the wet and cold with the blowers and wipers running all the time. I had thought about putting a ballast resistor in their power feed to drop the voltage down to 8 - 10 volts and may do that this winter. Yes, I know that there...

54 Plymouth 6 voltage system to a 12 voltage system

I did my 55 Dodge. I converted to 12v negative ground using a conventional alternator, ignition and starter at the same time. Inspect the old wiring carefully as it is likely old and brittle with cracking insulation. My factory clock and radio were left disconected. The factory guages dont care...

    27,000 original miles

Hard to tell...... kind of looks limlike e what you are seeing is a dirt mark, the edge of where the rubber was before it shrunk with age. Either way it is a fine example. I think you should definitely do a V8 conversion with either the original 3 speed or a 4 speed. And welcome again from...

    My 440 wont rev right

We need more details - define "doesn't rev the right way"...does it not rev as high as you like, or as quickly, or does it stutter / run rough? Also what is the initial and total ignition timing, carb / intake set up etc..... Is there fresh fuel in it, has the carb been rebuilt, what is the...

Welcome to the site, good to have you, and even better that the car will be completed! If it means anything I vote for painting the engine compartment and trunk both body color - but that is only my opinion.
