FOUND? Shroud for 26 Rad in A body?

When I helped put the finishing touches on my buddy's 65 fury ragtop, 318 to 440 conversion I used a ford exploder rad and shroud, it fit great. I just used the same rad in my 55 Dodge. No shroud though as I have an electric pusher fan. It is a nice big aluminum rad on the cheap. Use one from a...

Anyone i.d this rad by its part number..?

That is definitely a chrysler part. The dpcd logo in the picture stands for Dodge Plymouth Chrysler Desoto and was used from the 50s up to the early 70s. Do you have an overall picture of the rad?

Transplanting '74 factory A/C from car to car (is it a good idea?)

The firewalls are different between AC and non AC cars. There are different holes in different places, as well as different contours and reliefs. it wouldn't be a showstopper, but realize this is a fairly large undertaking .

    Anybody ever run too cool?

Where is your temp guage reading from? should be in the intake in the stock location, below the thermostat. I did have a 318 in a volare cop car, big rad, big fan, shroud etc. i ran it for a bit with no thermostat. it never got warm enough to burn moisture out of the oil and the oil went milky...

    Do these exist?

If it helps any......I put an explorer rad and shroud into my buddies 65 sport fury ragtop it fits great, but I had to trim about 1/2" off each blade tip in order to fit in the explorer shroud. It works great, perhaps you could do the same?

What does this mean? Radiator question

I would guess high alt means high altitude..... Like in a car sold in Denver or somewhere where the air is thinner.....possible a fan shroud or extra core?

74 Duster AC - Factory or dealer add on?

Yep, that is the factory set up. Also the firewall is different on factory AC cars.

    Heater core?

I would say no coincidence. My guess is that your old pump was leaking, and therefore the system was not holding its max pressure. With the new water pump, your cooling system is once again holding whatever pressure the rad cap is rated for, and the next weak link (bad heater core) shows up.

Guess where the part was made.

Its the water based environmentally freindly paints and primers introduced in the late 80's and nineties. They were crap.

Where can I find a NEW heater blower motor?

If you are not too concerned with originality I know that some members substitute one from a Jag or Volvo or something when converting to big block as it is slightly shorter. Do a search here and you should find some info.

From One A-body to Another (Air Conditioning)!

I could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain that the A/C firewall is formed (shaped) different, the blower motor hole is a different shape (and in a different location?), and the rad support is different between 22" and 26" rad cars, but like I said, it is an easy one to modify.

From One A-body to Another (Air Conditioning)!

Air cars also had a bigger radiator and different radiator support, but again you should be able to modify the existing rad support in the non air car to accept the bigger rad and air parts.

From One A-body to Another (Air Conditioning)!

The firewalls on A/C cars is different. You can either cut out the area from a donor A/C car and weld it into the non air car, or modify the existing one in the non air car. You will also need to locate the proper brackets etc for the compressor for a slant 6. Belt length will be one of your...

    1973 Dart Sport air code?

All air cars also had tinted window glass all the way around, and I think they had the small "airtemp by chrysler" decal on one of the rear quarter windows, but this sticker may have disappeared by the early 70's - my 72 Dart air car didn't have it. Clear windows is a dead giveaway the car...
