Best carb I’ve run on 273s is the CarterCompetition Series 9636. This was the performance replacement for the 340/383. Not available anymore however they are out there on the net. I just had one rebuilt for my 383.

Why not use the manual that Edelbrock provides. It has a matrix for tuning their carbs.

Sounds like the float level is too high or a stuck float. Take a hammer and gently tap against the sides of the float bowls. That may loosen up the float

Pump to carb steel fuel line kit, probably 5/16" line Classic Industries Product # MF573A You'll need a inlet fitting off an OE carb in order to bolt up.

If it's like the Edelbrock it should have a step up rod chart. I would first find a back country road for doing the tuning. Start out with making a full throttle pass and while coming to a stop shut the motor off. Don't let the engine idle. Now pull a couple of plugs and see how they are...

You need the correct kick down lever. I looked it up in the Summit cat. It's called a Chrysler, Universal Fit EDL-1481. It will help to align your kickdown.

That's correct although both are 66 and up manifolds. Look at the bolt holes. I'd say the top manifold is a 68-69 part. Ports are the same on both. Larger ports were found on the LD340

If you can find one an Edelbrock D4B. They are out there but expect to pay around $125

You can get the manifold through Perfornace Automotive Warehouse (PAW) or through SoCal. Bear in mind they no longer make the large port manifold for the 340/360. They still have the 273/318 manifold for 66 and up and a separte manifold for the 65 273 which has the different bolt angle.
