    273 Commando - UTG

I have a copy of the NHRA notice allowing the 8.75 in Junior Stock. I can’t remember if it’s dated. If dated that would give one an idea of about when the factory started putting them in 4 speed cars. As far as the cars that got warranty replacements the shop invoice would probably the only proof.

    273 Commando - UTG

Ma Mopar started putting 8.75 rears in 4 speed cars mid production year of 1965. This was due to the number of 4 speed cars coming in for warranty rear replacements. Torsion Bar won’t fit

Might want to dress up the hex and check for burrs. Take some Emory and lightly clean the inner surfaces. Do the same on the bar hex. Throughly wipe out the inside of the hex. Use a good high pressure grease and attempt to install. Usea dead blow to tap it in.

The entire running train is 74 A body. That’s the way I got the car. So far I’ve replaced the front brakes and suspension. The 74 318 came out and is awaiting the original 273. The 7.25 BBP is still on board but that will be replaced with a 8.25.

    Room for a Clutch-Fan in a '65?

I looked at 65 Formula S on Saturday. He’s owned the car since the late 60’s. Given it was his daily driver he had to contend with the high temps here in Phoenix. He replaced th solid fan with a clutch setup. The fan is a short diameter to fit the steel OE shroud and the clutch has a significant...
