Modern Drivetrain Swap into '65 Valiant

There’s a guy that lives north of Phoenix that owns my old 64 Dart vert. Last time I saw the car which was on FB he put a 5.7 in it. I’d sur like to get the old drive train out of that car.

    1962 Lancer Wagon, Lancersaurus!

My experience with the bad gas has been excellorator pumps. The rubber quickly breaks down. On protecting the AFB from bad gas, I’d go with a accelerator pump made for E85. They are made of a special material that withstands the dry E85. The older pumps were made with leather but not sure how...

    68 GTS Resto

Well, its going on 3 years since I've been in the valley of the Phoenix. Have a new shop up, all wired and ready to do some other things down the road. The car was practically finished in the summer of 15 but had to stop to make a move to Phoenix. That was August of 15. Got the car down here in...

    64 Dart Convertible Anniversary Edition

Yeah, my 64 was a fun car. Cruised down the road just fine. The new owner has made several long trips from the NW to Phoenix and back. Brave soul with no AC and top down.

    Steps for rotisserie resto

Just finished mine last year. Doors, hood, trunk lid were all done off the car. We also skinned the roof. It was nice having it on a rotisserie. We were able to clean the bottom of the car removing all the old undercoating. Once all the panel replacement was complete all the other body...

    1968 Barracuda Convertible

I forgot to ad that the car missing the kickdown concerns me. Hopefully the previous owner didn't drive the car without it. If so I would drop the tranny pan and check for debrie in the pan. Not running the kick down affects the line pressure in the tranny and running without one leads to...

That be the one. My problem is the wiring diagram shows the tach harness but everything ends at the firewall.

    AlV 69 Dodge GTS project

If you want to keep things looking stock take a spare ballast resistor and gut it. Run your jumper wire behind the resistor. That way you have a full 12 volts for the MSD to run while keeping the stock look.

    Gang Green 68 GTS

My original plan was to run an MSD. This required a mod to the tach because of the MSD multiple spark. I changed my mind on the MSD (fickle sometimes) and went with a Firecore setup. I probably need to have the tach rewired. I'm still looking for the contact info for the guy that did the tach...

    Gang Green 68 GTS

Yes, that's a correct Mopar tach. I think all the tachs had the base. There's a 67 GTX local here that has the tach. I'll try and see if he has the base. Just an FYI, the tach should work if you run the stock Mopar electronic ignition however it won't with the MSD. Multiple spark. You'll either...

Looks like your project is coming along nicely. I see you went the same route I went by using a B&M flexplate. Does your car have the console mounted tach?
