850 Carter Thermoquad flooding at low rpm

There's no other sound that compares thats for sure. Tuning isn't really as bad as let on either when the proper steps are followed. I've fought with edelbrocks a heck of alot more and never get it quite right.

850 Carter Thermoquad flooding at low rpm

I would start with the float levels and check the needles while your in there depending on the model most thermoquads float levels are set at 29/32 in the closed position. Some books say 31/32 some models differ but 29-31/32 is a pretty safe bet.

    Disappointing dyno results

I think it took me about 2 or 3 years to get mine done. I did the same started from scratch. I started with a budget 318 and it was gonna have to he machined so I figured if I'm gonna pay a machine bill might as well go with a 360. I like you bought parts that was wrong for the combo ended up...

    Disappointing dyno results

I understand your frustration and loss of momentum! Trust me I get it more than most! I ran into issues with dang near every step on mine and had to reconfigure my build several times. At one point I got so frustrated and overwhelmed it wasn't even fun anymore and walked away for almost a year...

    Fuel sending unit not flowing.

No I don't think so I was very careful installing it. It is vented thru the factory filler tube and I have a return line. I actually thought about this and removed the gas cap and return line with the electric pump. This is probably the case. Looks like I'm dropping the tank lol thanks for the...

    Fuel sending unit not flowing.

I have a brand new sending unit installed into a brand new tank I cannot get fuel to come out. I thought it was a fuel pump issue (also brand new) so I hooked up a electric fuel pump, nothing. So I thought maybe it was a clogged line so I unhooked the fuel lines and connected the electric fuel...

Grounding stock gas tank ideas? No metal fuel line...

Just ground the sending unit the tank don't need grounded. Buy one of the straps that connects onto the neck of the outlet then to the gas line. Then run a wire from that strap to the body

    Sending unit gasket placement

Its not gonna work in this pos. The gasket is just too thick the alignment tabs aren't reaching the tank. I tried it leaks like a seave.

    Sending unit gasket placement

This is what im going to have to do. I managed to get a gasket on the inside and put one in the outside to help tighten it down because one gasket just won't get tight. Even with with two it still leaks. Im gonna get me some gas resistant sealer and make my own gasket thanks for your help.

    Sending unit gasket placement

Here are some pics the first one is with the gasket on the outside of the unit the 2nd in with it on the inside you can see the tabs are nowhere close to engaging

    Sending unit gasket placement

I'll try to take one it will be hard to see inside the tank tho. With the gasket thickness here is the thing I can't get the locking ring tight enough as it is a thinner gasket and it will never seal.

    Sending unit gasket placement

I know this is a dumb question or thought rather but everything I see online says the gasket goes between the tank and sending unit. But with the gasket in that location the locating tabs do not reach the locating tab holes in the tank. Is it possible the gasket goes on the outside?
