    Shorty Headers

I got a lot of flack here, but I installed shorty headers because I couldn't find the 340 manifolds for a reasonable price. The shorties flow better than the tiny 273 manifolds that I had. I went with Sanderson because they were cheaper than TTI. They required modification to one tube to clear...

    Sanderson Headers: The Verdict

Wow, tough crowd. I would have gone for the TTI shorty but I wasn't sure it would fit with my AX15 transmission. I knew going into it that some modification would be necessary, so I figured I'd get the cheaper header instead of beating on the expensive headers. So if you want to save $119 (over...

    Sanderson Headers: The Verdict

There's been some speculation and talk about whether the Sanderson shorty headers fit our cars. I know @Blackhatguy tried them on his 64 and had to clearance them, but would a later car require as much? I took one for the team and ordered a set of DD8 headers, which are for 67-69 cars. My car...

    New headers

Thanks for the update! Sanderson is confusing with the three different part numbers.

    SANDERSON HEADERS

Scott: Can't answer your question, but I don't think Doug's makes shorty headers. I know there are a couple companies called "Doug's", so maybe I missed one.

    SANDERSON HEADERS

Thanks for the pics. Looks like they'd fit a 67 and up just fine.

    New headers

Can we get an update on these headers? Did you get it in the car?

    1967 273 Manifold Headpipe size/style

I need to redo my headpipe so it seals to the manifold. Can anyone tell me what size and style these manifolds use? TTI says 2.25 with a ball joint. 2.25 seems too large to me though. Looking for something like this: Walker Universal Ball Flanges 41726 Thanks.

Jeg's exhaust system: "deep tone" vs. regular mufflers

I'm the original poster. I just used my original headpipes from the old exhaust and welded a flange onto them to attach to the Jeg's system. My blog has some pics and video for sound: New Exhaust System Install

    Post your sound bytes here.

Jeg's 2.5" exhaust system with their generic turbo mufflers. Stock 273 manifolds and headpipes. 5.2L magnum with factory EFI. I think the PCM needs to be flashed- cold start is a little rough.

    Long Shot: Grand Cherokee Headers

Okay, looks like they probably won't work. I knew it was a long shot. Thanks for the insight.

    Long Shot: Grand Cherokee Headers

I wish I could find a picture because these did not look like the Dakota headers. From what I can tell, these were a Cat-forward system, so they weren't constrained to a specific collector location. Car I'm working on: 5.2L magnum in 67 A-body.

    Long Shot: Grand Cherokee Headers

I've searched this site and found nothing about Grand Cherokee (1994 vintage) shorty headers. It appears that manifolds from a Grand Cherokee do not work, but has anyone tried headers? I'm asking because I found a set of Borla stainless headers in the junkyard today and they only want $40 for...

Jeg's exhaust system: "deep tone" vs. regular mufflers

May have answered my own question. The jeg's site lists the muffler as a turbo style. Found this youtube clip of a Cuda with turbo mufflers. I'll probably go with the turbo muffler as my last Flowmaster experience was very droney.

Jeg's exhaust system: "deep tone" vs. regular mufflers

I'm going to be ordering a Jeg's 2.5" exhaust system for my Barracuda and I'm unsure which mufflers to get. I think the "deep tone" is a Flowmaster style. The other mufflers don't have much info. Does anyone have a sound clip from the regular mufflers? I found one of the deep tone on youtube...
