Thanks for the write up. This is something I might end up doing for the tilt feature.

    Front End Unsprung Weight

Thanks again! I figured the weights were for pairs, but thanks for clarifying that. I'm planning on pulling the current bars and checking the travel like you're saying.

    Front End Unsprung Weight

If it's not too much trouble, would you mind weighing the disk spindles? Thanks for this info and the reminder to check travel. Back when I did the Dart's IRS, the travel issue bit me and I had to up the spring rate. The only advice I was able to find back then was to have enough spring and...

    Front End Unsprung Weight

I'm an engineer. I'm paid to overthink things. :) The 1.03 bar may be what I go with, but by doing the math, I'll know it was the right choice.

    Front End Unsprung Weight

Has anyone calculated the front end unsprung weight? I'm looking for control arms, brake, knuckle minus wheel/tire since that varies car to car. I am trying to figure out my suspension frequency so I can pick a good torsion bar. For my own learning, would the entire control arm be unsprung on...

    Positive Camber Impossible?

Wanted to chime in on this. My 67 has the offset bushings and they could only get me 1 degree of positive caster and camber was at zero. Really frustrating. I am saving up for aftermarket upper arms. My car follows ruts in the road really bad, so more caster is needed. I read that late model...

Adapting Power Steering Box to -6 AN Hose

Found these products, and they seem to be doing the same thing. They also state that they fit the Mopar power steering box: http://www.tallonhydraulics.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=39_2&products_id=14...

Adapting Power Steering Box to -6 AN Hose

I'm using a late-model power steering pump from a Jeep. I need to make up a custom hose for this situation. There are many adapters available for this purpose, but none fit the Mopar steering box. It uses a 5/16 male o-ring to seal, the tube nut is 1/2-20. I want to adapt to -6 AN. Can I use a...

89 limited slip Ford 8.8 IRS swap help

One of my goals was to keep the stock tank and keep the car intact. So yeah, the Thunderbird subframe would have eradicated that. The T-bird lower control arms were massive and cast iron if I remember correctly. Have you got your set up yet? Just throw it under there and start measuring...

89 limited slip Ford 8.8 IRS swap help

    1. Not only is it too wide, it's also too long fore and aft. Mine was out of a 1994 Thunderbird Supercoupe. So many things would have had to change to make it work. In the end, I was able to not modify the car other than drilling a couple holes. Then when I sold the car, I was able to install...

89 limited slip Ford 8.8 IRS swap help

Once you lay the subframe under your car, you'll start to see why it won't work. In my case I didn't want to cut up my car, so I made the frame to fit the car. If you were hell bent on using the Ford subframe, you'd probably end up doing a complete back half. IE: Cutting the bottom of the car...

89 limited slip Ford 8.8 IRS swap help

    I've done it in a '66. Here's a series of articles that I wrote on the project: https://dartslantsix.wordpress.com/2014/06/27/1966-dodge-dart-irs-project-part-1/ https://dartslantsix.wordpress.com/2014/06/27/1966-dodge-dart-irs-project-part-2/...

Yes, they are different. Power steering column is shorter. There are adapters to go from power to manual though.
