    Drill Bit Sharpener....

I honestly found the drill doctor to be more of a pain in the rump. Can you square the grinding wheel? This is gold standard. I have one at work but we rarely use for drill bits. Usually endmills.

I dont normally wear gloves but I have been using these for messy jobs or oily stuff. Hard to find in my size lately but seem to hold up better than most

    Floor drain opinions wanted

Whatever you do. DO NOT PUT IN DRAINS! Reason being. You will have to clean them out. Lose tools in drains or the dropped nuts etc. Crappy grate to cross with vehicles etc. Bent grate and tripping hazard. Kids trikes cant cross. Stagnant water Smell of rotting debris. Sweeping garage floor...

Any Recommendations on a 1/2" Digital Torque Wrench?

Never buy digital vernier, mic etc. Same with digital torque wrench, unless you like replacing batteries every time you use it. I prefer the dial verniers as my everyday verniers.

Plasma Cutting Table on the Cheap?

Don't need that with manual. Our torch tracer basically uses a wiper motor with a magnet to trace the part to copy

Plasma Cutting Table on the Cheap?

We use a steel grate for our torch tracer. Something similar to floor grating. 1/4 bar about 3 inch wide. Similar to this Many scrap yards may have that as a drainage culvert or laying around as floor grates. Talk to the right guy and may be able to get it by the pound

    Milwaukee fuel

I do alot of scrap processing for charity. I run a Milwaukee M18 sawsall. I got a pack of two batteries from Amazon and they don't hold a charge worth a crap. I just picked up the 8ah battery from home Depot today. I also picked up the milwaukee 1/2 impact for stubborn nuts. That thing has...

    Shop layout recommendations?

One thing I have in my concrete that not many people seem to do. I laid a 6 inch pipe vertical as a floor anchor. Then stuck and old torsion bar thru the pipe to be sunk in the concrete. (Photo won't upload) Now I can wrap a chain around the bar to anchor. Also made a steel lid for the holes...

intercooler for a shop air compressor

I run a similar style as 1wildrt I have 4 runs up with a drain (ball valve) at the bottom of each . I also used my old 80 gallon compressor tank as storage and cooling. Then made another run up and down with drains. I never see moisture now. About once a month I crack open the drains (valves)...

    Drill Bit Sharpener

General machinist here. Drill point gauge is your friend. Take that drill dr and throw it in the trash. The one my father bought a few years back, he could not replace the wheel. So the bits never sharpened correctly. I bought a table grinder and a drill point gauge and dropped it off to...

    Interestig bearing/balancer/whatever Puller

Work on some old farm equipment or heavy construction equipment Same idea but manufactured. I commend him on the execution for less cost. Yes he may need to refine his welding or switch some parts out to have something better.

    Interestig bearing/balancer/whatever Puller

Planning an idea similar to this. Dangerous? Think about standing there with a wrench spinning a nut and something breaks. Not same explosive idea?

    Battery impact guns

I have the milwaukee fuel pn#2767 impact. 1000 ft/lbs tightening and 1400 ft/lbs of loosening. Have not used it much but it has loosened some bolts that a 3/4 breaker bar with a 4 foot pipe would not break loose.

    Amazon plasma cutter caught fire

I have been running one for 4 or 5 years. Never had an issue. Still unsure if i would step up to a name brand version. If the consumables get discontinued i would move on to a hypertherm, if i decide to get another one.

    Vertical Mill

Dont fear three phase motors. I swapped my home bridgeport for a 220 motor. (Also did a lathe) I was looking at doing a set of heads on my bridgeport but i could not justify the tooling to do one pair of heads and not much intention to do any more sets. Do not fear the chinese copies of...

    8'' milling vice recommendation

I personally have a love for the swivel base vise to machine angles easier. I also like them with deep jaws for machining bigger shafts etc. Also take a good look at the threaded rod and look to see how easily it is to cleanout the metal shavings/chips. I have a few that get bound up and its...

Nice tool box at home depot

I have 2 of the 52" versions at work for my tools. One for machinist stuff and the other for wrenching tools. I put one in my shopping cart at home depot and randomly they took $100 off. About a year later i put another in my cart because the first one was full, before i knew it they offered...

    Powder coat vers Paint

I went a bought a cheap harbor freight powder gun.
