Photo of where I welded fender plate...

Got any photos of installed clutch linkage to share? I'd like to compare. I have a converted from auto Duster and it started doing this... (video). I'm concerned that the geometry is off at the stud on the fender, forcing out the spring retainer out.

I suspect it's a truck Z-bar....

I thought so too but am questioning this as the fork shaft is curved like an E/B body bar.

I was told this was an A-body SB z-bar. Is this accurate? The fork connecting rod is curved and the overall length is longer than 7" (maybe 8 or 9"?).

What are the measurements for where this bracket should be installed in the wheel well? The car has been modified to have a 4-speed so I cannot trust the ball stud location. 1972 Duster.

I have pictures of my Z-bar installed in my 1972 but it is a modified (cut) /6 bar. It works just fine. Would that help?

Did you convert from auto too? Does the Z-bar seem straighter now? Mine does. I wonder if the factory was just a little off drilling the hole?

I adjusted the linkage geometry. Works fine now, thanks for the recommendations

I have found another person with a V8 Z-bar that had the same problem; he installed a hydraulic system instead. I’d rather not do that…
