    Magnum oil pump

Nice! I usually just smear some assembling grease on the pick up to check fitment .

    Magnum oil pump

Yep! It should be touching . My issue was the pick up tube was screwed on the tightest while still being orientated the way it should be on the pan but the pan rails were about .5 inch away from mating to the block hence why I bent the goose neck on the pick up tube. Now the P.U tube sits flush...

    Magnum oil pump

I believe the oil pan is a replacement . The previous guy that I bought the engine from had it in his 68 barracuda .I matched the oil pan to another 72 LA block from a Dart and the oil pans are essentially the same . I was able to get the new pump on and used the pick up tube that game with the...

I also tried the new oil pump and old pick up tube off of...

    Magnum oil pump

I tried replacing the oil pump with a new one .melling #m-72 . When installed the oil pan would not sit flush and kinda hits the oil pick up tube . It’s on at the tightest and sitting leveled. When the original pump is on it sits flush . I cross referenced the Oil pump (M-72) and it pretty much...

    “PermaDry”Timing cover gasket

I found that silicone/steel gasket when I searched up ‘99 magnum on the oreillys website. I thought it would be the same to a ‘94. It had me scratching my head a bit. Do the later magnums have a different oiling system/passages? I’ve seen other threads where they mention drilling a hole in...

    “PermaDry”Timing cover gasket

Sweet thanks for the oem part #. Yea I’m sure it will be fine with the blue one I just thought the gasket it previously had was neat because it came off in one piece and there was essentially no gasket scrapping/clean up just took a wipe down on the block and timing cover. I found one online...

    “PermaDry”Timing cover gasket

Prepping the magnum engine. On tear down I noticed the engine still had “oem” gaskets.the timing cover in particular ,I’ve seen paper/composite gaskets before but the one it had was a pretty thick silicone/ metal gasket. I’ve ordered the gasket set from scram speed but it came with a paper...
