    64 Barracuda

Hey AJ, Glad to hear you got the radio. I would check it to make sure it works ok before you mount it. I got it with the car, but I've never tested it or anything, as the previous owner had the new cd player mounted in the dash. Other than that, I would probably put the newer head unit in the...

    64 Barracuda

Yo Tony! Glad to hear your stayin busy buddy. Hit me up whenever you have time I'm around. I love that Blue Duster you had, I'm having a great time with the 73 I traded AJ here.

    73 Duster

Yep its definitely all small bolt pattern. Do you guys know if the driver side still has reverse threaded studs on a 73?
  4. fadingfastsd

    73 Duster

Hey Physhy thanks for the offer man. I have stock 14" rims on the car right now, I really don't want to go down to 13" rims. Thanks very much though, if they were 14's I'd be on them right away! Anybody else got some 14's!?

    73 Duster

Just posted on your thread. Great job AJ! If you come across another set of SBP slots or rallye's let me know!

AJ - great job! Interior looks awesome. I'm glad to see you keeping her going!

    73 Duster

Hey AJ thanks. Ya I just posted that right when you were writing! Man hang onto those slotted mags on the Cuda. They were hard to find and would be perfect for the Duster too! If you decide to change rims and want to get rid of the mags definitely let me know.

    73 Duster

Intense - it's got drums all around, which from what i saw in this thread: http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=56848&highlight=73+duster+bolt+pattern means it was still SBP. I measured the lug spacing, and it's definitely 4". And thanks for the comments guys, it was a straight...

    73 Duster

Well last weekend I traded my 64 Barracuda to another FABO member (ajones19802) for his 73 Duster. You can see his thread on the Cuda here: http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=63221 It's a very nice Duster, orange with black 340 stripes. Black interior, with BMW bucket seats...

    64 Barracuda

Yep, AJ ended up with my Cuda, and I'm sure he'll give it a great home. He's good kid for sure! We traded straight up, and I got his beautiful 73 /6 Duster. I've been putting ~70 miles / day on it all week driving to work, and she's doing great.

Thanks buddy! I left this one out, its one of my favorites:

Thanks physhy. Ya the air shocks work fine for now and are a quick fix to keep enough clearance back there for daily driving. When I have room to tear the car down for a restoration it will get new springs.

    My 64 Barracuda Progress

Heres some more pics I took this afternoon. They show you how it sits with the air shocks, a little higher in the back. I love it! Sorry thats a ton of pics, but I'm really happy with the stance!

    My 64 Barracuda Progress

Ok here's the update. Paul Wagner @ Team-Dart (www.team-dart.com) did an excellent job on the motor swap. The 318 is killer, runs excellent, sounds insane, and hauls ***. I'll talk to Paul tomorrow and get all the part specs on the engine. Its got a pretty bumpy cam in it, and Edelbrock...

    My 64 Barracuda Progress

I'll write a bigger update tonight, but here's a clip of the new engine. Sounds awesome! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VqmmOb_hrw

    My 64 Barracuda Progress

Thanks for the info Tony. So the guy must've swapped it out with the 273 I'm assuming. I'm not too worried about it for now like you said. Can't wait to get the car back, sounds like your Dad did an Awesome job!

    My 64 Barracuda Progress

Thanks Keith! Here's a couple pics I had. Can anybody tell from these? I can take more detailed pics when I get the car back. It doesn't really seem to match the bolt pattern on the 7 or the 8? Any guesses?

    My 64 Barracuda Progress

I'll take your word for it! haha I might be headed down that road soon. I guess I'll find out. How do you tell the difference between the 2 axles?
  19. fadingfastsd

    My 64 Barracuda Progress

I'm really not sure what rear is in the car at this point. Was there a different rear end used in these if the car was a 6 or and 8? I know the car was originally a /6, but when the PO swapped in the 273 he may have swapped the axle. So I dunno I'll have to look into that. Not a big concern...

    My 64 Barracuda Progress

Thanks alot! Ya the color looks ok in pics, but if you see it in person up close its not too hot. The gold/silver color is pretty faded and scratched up. The black is not done well at all. The black is flat and not a good quality paint. I'm not sure what I'm going to do as far as repaint. Once...

    My 64 Barracuda Progress

Ok another quick update. Paul Wagner (www.team-dart.com) finished up the engine swap. He said the new 318 is killer, runs great and hauls ***. I haven't seen it yet with the new engine, but I can't wait. I'll post tons of pics and specs on the engine as soon as I have the car back. The new...

    My 64 Barracuda Progress

Just picked up my rims & tires. Here's a couple pics: I'm headed down to the shop to drop them off this afternoon. An update on the engine, talked to Paul Wagner of Wagner Racing & Team Dart on Bullrun (check out www.team-dart.com, the website I traded them for the engine work on...

    My 64 Barracuda Progress

Hey Red, no inspection is needed in CA. No smog either if older than a 76. So it really doesn't matter :). Tony, great meeting you & your Dad today! Looking forward to working with you guys. I'll talk with you soon! And JohnnyB, yep the lady was pretty crazy. I went and looked at it the first...

    My 64 Barracuda Progress

Well needed some new tires and rims real soon. Picked up some awesome slotted mags off of member Vic Storm on here, Great guy! They're small bolt pattern, 14" rims, 7" in back, and 6" in front. Heres a couple pics I got from him: Can't wait to get them mounted up on my fish. Also, I'm...

    My 64 Barracuda Progress

I was also gonna say, I love the sound but there is a couple drawbacks to this setup. There is quite a bit of interior resonance from having the pipes dumped at the axle. Also, the exhaust smell is pretty noticeable in the cab if you're sitting at a light for awhile. Its fine while driving.
  26. fadingfastsd

    My 64 Barracuda Progress

Yup they notched it while on the car. Whenever I'm under there soon I'll take a better pic of the notch. They did a good job, and welded it up to reinforce it. Looks pretty good, is solid, and lets the pipe tuck up there pretty well.
  27. fadingfastsd

    My 64 Barracuda Progress

Thanks Mr2.4! It does sound good. Its perfect volume, sounds pretty mean, but not obnoxiously loud at idle unless you really stomp on it!
  28. fadingfastsd

    My 64 Barracuda Progress

Ok first order of business. Shes a daily driver, and the exhaust is so horrible, it drags on turning, or hitting any sort of bump that flexes the rear. Like I said above, it was an original /6 car, and the PO didnt notch the crossmember for the exhaust. They also hung HUGE box side exit mufflers...

    My 64 Barracuda Progress

Well I'm getting to work on the Barracuda, so I'm gonna document my progress here for anybody to follow. I'm not sure with the long term direction I'll be going with the car, it certainly won't be a full restoration any time soon, but I plan on continuing to build a badass, reliable daily driver...
