Ya I'll need to stick with tubes as the used rims I picked up, had the valve stem hole enlarged some. Thanks for the link " flyfish"

    screw length ?

I know racing is addictive.....I raced a little many years ago, on occasion, but never used slicks. ( just a street car) would you happen to know a tube size for a 28X 10.50 slick ? Thanks again " Pettybludart"

    screw length ?

oh one more question...do I need to use tubes with a metal valve stem, or are rubber stems tubes ok, for NHRA tech inspection? I'm guessing my car is a low twelves car, so I don't know the rules for cars running in this catagory. ( bracket racing)

    screw length ?

well obviously I don't want them all the way through the beads, but far enough in to bite into the rubber bead good....I'm thinkin 3/8 or 1/2 would be fine.

    screw length ?

How long of a screw should be used to screw slicks to centerline rims? I'm guessing maybe 1/2 or 5/8. Figured I'd ask somebody who has done this.

    71 Duster Stripe Repair Question

X2, it also depends on who's stripe kit you have on your car now. I noticed there all a little different, when you start comparing them side by side. Especially the tail panel stripes. The most correct stripe in the industry are that of performance car graphics.

Should I drive my car to the track?

I have the same gears and tires on the rear as you, and I have driven my duster to our local track, an hour away, with no issues. It runs at 180 to 190 degrees just as yours does, and at 55 mph, I'm turning about 3200 rpms. I say drive it, and ebjoy a great day making some passes.

    1/4 times 4 my car?

I live about the same amount of miles away from our drag strip, and I drive my duster there with 4:30s, but I don't go much faster than 55 mph, or it's screaming. Luckily it's all secondary roads to get there. LOL !

    1/4 times 4 my car?

I'd guess 12.90s, with the 3:55 gears being a limiting factor.

    Too scoop or not?

I'd go with a six pack fiberglass hood, ( or another steel hood you can cut for a scoop) and keep your stock hood in case you want to go back to stock appearence. This is exctly what I'm doing with my duster....
