Since the cable runs near heat sources, just put a simple heat sleeve on it. Can get the sleeve at local parts stores.

I have used glue, and not. When I do, I make sure the heel pad is placed correctly, and the I spray the glue, starting at the middle, and working my way out. It helps with carpet that doesn't want to lay how I want it.

I think you are right. If I remember correctly, my 69 Dart had one large opening and 2 small ones for the thumb wheels. And has 2 large screws holding it in place with holes that are beveled for the screws to flush mount.

All the parts to the 3196 horn kit do not fit your setup. Just send that back. Look at the billet horn button holder with the 5 holes in it that match the steering wheel. I assume you have the 5 allen head bolts to mount the wheel.1. What's under the 3m tape on the back of the horn button...

I bought my 69 Dart interior, made by legendary interiors from Dant e's mopar parts. Got a much better price.

I built one very similar to Grassy's console for my 65 Comet. Couldn't find a factory style that would work and have everything I wanted. Now I have a storage bin, home for a stereo, and cup holders!. You can get them froma boat supply.

My upholstery guy wrapped it around the pinchweld, and I just want to make sure the glass will seal properly if I use the glazing and bedding sealer with the gasket. Any thoughts?

You will still have the stink of old carpet.

White gets my vote. If you use the Caddy pearl white, you will be soory if it ever gets damaged. Very hard to match.

Once it's installed correctly I think you can loosen the steering column and pull it closer to the wheel adapter
