    Dead on 2 and 4

I know this might sound crazy, but I read in a tech section of a magazine where someone had a miss like this, and the answer was that the distributor needed to be grounded. Easily tested.

    318LA Myth's still being created!

Reading this thread reminds me why I don't post much here anymore. It's ok if the op was wrong. But hammering him, or calling calling him a yahoo (rusty)are just not how a supposed community of Mopar lovers should treat each other. It seems like whenever one person who doesn't know everything...

    Damper Disappointment

I do love Summit, but their Summit brand products are awful. I won't buy them anymore.

    360 engine vibration at ~3000rpm

Maybe I assumed too much, but I would think that the op checked for anything hitting on anything.

    360 engine vibration at ~3000rpm

You said that there's no vibration in park, or neutral. That says the vibration is in the driveline. Drive the car, and pay attention to how the vibration feels. Then rotate it 180 degrees, and drive it again. Did the vibration change? Doesn't matter if it's better or worse. If there's any...

A body with headman shortie headers boiling power steering?

True, but it tends to rot the headers.

A body with headman shortie headers boiling power steering?

I did it on another car when the lines went near the headers. Post a picture. It will help.

A body with headman shortie headers boiling power steering?

Put heat sleeves on the lines. Add a p/s cooler.

    Pre-bent fuel line recommendation

You mentioned Stainless steel lines. I have heard they can be hard to work with. They supposedly don't seal as easy as mild steel lines. Some say to tighten, and loosen the fittings a couple times to get them to seal.

Powermaster Retro Alternators 175191 This is the one I used. Works great so far.

    Powermaster Alternator Mount

Powermaster does make a Mopar style squareback alternator. Maybe exchange it. It will save a lot of grief.

    90 deg oil filter adapter...

If you don't want to wander junkyards looking for this part, I have the adapter, and the bolt. $60, including shipping. I think Mancini's has the gasket.

    Oil pump priming question

Does the oil come out of the oil pressure line, if you remove the gauge? No? check the next fitting closer to the engine. Keep going until you find the restriction. Or go to the auto parts store, and buy a whole new gauge, and tubing kit. Much cheaper than an engine.

    flat cam lobe

Now that you mention it, I think they discontinued it, since they no longer use flat tappet cams. I think that's why I went with the Comp break in oil. I filled the crank case with it. No issues.

    flat cam lobe

I had a lobe go flat with a MP 484 cam years ago. It was in the car for a couple years before it went. I read somewhere that MP had problems with their cams. Put in a new Comp cam, Bought a bottle of Chevy break in lube, filled with Rotella, primed the oil pump, and kept changing the oil, and...

    Tired of DIY!

Don't give up. I know that I can't think straight when I get hot. Try doing one issue at a time. That keeps you from overwhelmed. If you wiggle the throttle lever, and hear a change in the whistle sound, it's probably the worn shaft.

    408 Troubleshooting: Won't Idle

To be clear, does the engine spin when you turn the key? That's the starter's only job. If it starts, then stalls, it's not your starter. Crank the engine, hopefully it starts.and look in the carb. Do you see fuel dripping in the carb? If so, there's your problem. Watch out for back fires. If...

stinking water neck driving me crazy

    Stripped fuel pump bolt

You might want to helicoil both bolt holes while the engine is out. If one stripped, the other has probably similar wear, and might not be far behind.

    What's That Sound?

Get a cheap stethoscope, so you can be sure. I had a brand new set of Edelbrock push rods eaten up at the rocker. You need to look at the pushrods, and make sure they are fine. Also, I had the adjuster fail on another engine. Look at the grain of the adjuster. It looks like sand. I put in all...
