    Thermal or Viscous? Clutch fan.

    Overheating -- Corrective measure questions.

What I noticed, was you don't have a hood seal. That keeps the air from going around the radiator, instead of through it. Also, if the radiator is too far from the core support, have the rad mounts cut off, and welded on in the proper place. This might put the rad where the shroud will work.

    Help cooling 408 stroker

The pusher fan can cause an obstruction to air flow. 2 smaller fans with higher output would be better. Should give room for the water pump pulley. Does the temperature come down when driving? If so, a Mechanical fan with a shroud will help. What temps are you seeing?

    Help cooling 408 stroker

I don't think that's enough cfm. Choices are get a Mechanical fan, and shroud, or get higher output fans, and an electric fan shroud $$$.

How close, is to close for rad fans to water pump pulley space

I have used that fan on several cars over the years. Works great. Make sure you don't buy the reverse flow fan like my neighbor did. I made a shroud to fit the aftermarket radiator, since the stock shroud wouldn't work. Shrouds not only help cooling at low speeds, they are a safety device. All...

    Radiator and cooling options

I prefer to keep it simple, by using a mechanical fan. Look at the fan on my car. It's from Summit, costs $40, and moves a lot of air.

    Radiator and cooling options

IMO, I wouldn't unless it was my last option. I just hate to do any mods that I can't put back. My core support only covers about an 1 1/2 inches on each side. I feel that the extra surface area of the wider radiator helps, just not as much as if the core support opening was wider. I think a...

    Radiator and cooling options

I get that. If you reread my post, you will see that my subject was in reference to the width of the core support, versus the width of the radiator. And I suggested a wider, thinner would help the OP to find some of that room between the WP, and the radiator.

    Radiator and cooling options

This is my setup. It's on a 64 Sport Fury. The point is, I have a 22 inch opening, but I'm using a 26inch radiator, and shroud from a 1969 Road Runner, and the Summit fan. Runs 180 to 190 in Florida weather. I only used that particular radiator since I had it. It is a 3 row brass. Supposedly, a...

    Radiator and cooling options

The setup you have won't work. There's too much area not covered by the fan. You need a shroud. The radiator looks too thick, and maybe too small. Hard to tell by the pictures. The thicker the radiator, the harder it is for cool air to travel through it. A Thinner, wider radiator will cool...

The impossible to solve overheating problem

Wow. Sounds like you have some aggression issues. Since the object is to help the OP, and you feel one of my comments was incorrect, it would have been polite of you to post your opinion to be of service to the OP. I could be wrong, I've been wrong in the past, but asking you why you thought I...

The impossible to solve overheating problem

I just saw the picture of the bottom hose, since I was looking at it on a cell phone earlier. That particular hose probably wont collapse, but I bet it hurts flow.

The impossible to solve overheating problem

So, inertia, why just give a red x? How about state what it is you disagree with? You don't like Relpax? You saying you can see the hose collapse when at rest? Speak up, inquiring minds want to know!

The impossible to solve overheating problem

Get a prescription for Relpax for migraines. Please re read my post. That hose only sucks shut when driving. You won't see it just revving the engine.

The impossible to solve overheating problem

I agree with what's been said here. But looking at the pic of the rubber freeze plug, that is way thicker than a standard plug. It could very possibly be blocking flow. I would fix that, put a spring in the lower hose. You get them from mustang suppliers. I'm told you can't see the hose suck...

    Adding a pusher fan.

Seems You have your mind made up, but I had a similar issue. Hot at low speeds, and idle. I built a temporary fan shroud from some cheap aluminium from Home Depot. Worked perfect. No more issues. What that guy told you about a shroud is crap. You need one. Reconsider what you've been told...

    Aluminum Radiator

I have one in my Dart. The mounting holes were way off. Required tig welding, and regrinding the lower slots. Redrilled the top holes. Then it was too tall. I can't even use a lever cap. It hits the hood. Then the shroud brackets made using the stock shroud impossible. I had to make one from...

    Cooling Issue

If you try the solid mount fan, it might answer all your questions. Maybe the fan clutch is failing. Do you have the spring in the lower hose? How about the seal that seals the hood to the radiator?

    Cool craft radiator

Does anyone have the Cool Craft radiator that's a 22 inch for 67-69 A body, the one that looks like the round top style that originally came in these cars? I need to know if the stock fan shroud will fit it. Thanks.

    ECP radiator issues.

Wish i would have seen this post sooner, so I could save someone grief. I bought their 22 inch radiator for mt 69. None of the bolt holes lined up. I had to cut them and weld up the slots for the bottom bolts cause they were too wide. Not easy when you suck at aluminum welding. Then it's so tall...

    26 inch ECP in a 68 Dart

My main concern, was, where do I find a fan shroud to work with your radiator? Reply, we don't have one. Well, if you are going to change the way a shroud is mounted common sense would be to build a shroud that fits. I didn't bring up about changing the mounting holes, I just wanted a shroud...

    26 inch ECP in a 68 Dart

I bought one of their 22 inch radiators. Nothing fit properly. So tall I can't use a lever cap. Had to grind out the mounting holes, and weld the other side of the holes/slots so a bolt and washer would fit. After all that, the stock shroud won't work due to the mounting rails on the radiator...

    Fan shroud mounting question

Maybe you can get a couple steel strips from Home Depot. Mount them to the top and bottom shroud mounting holes. A nutsert kit from Harbor freight would work. Then mount the shroud exactly where you need it using short self tapping screws.

    Anyone used these radiators?

I was well aware of your use of a 26 inch radiator. You asked if anyone used them. I replied that I did, and the result of that purchase.

    Anyone used these radiators?

I bought the 22 inch for 63-69 radiator. None of the bolt holes lined up. Had to tig weld the brackets to close the slots up. Then the flanges they use for a shroud are so far from the radiator that you can't use.a stock shroud. I could've lived with that, but the car overheated at slow speeds...
