PUI FRONT SEAT UPHOLSTERY PURE JUNK

No matter the price a company should never send out a seat cover that comes apart, especially a company who specializes in classic car upholstery. Thanks for the letting others know to beware.

What kind of paint did you use? Looks nice, you're not trying to keep it all factory. Though I like that you've kept the original bench seat.

    Spray bomb vinyl dye.

SEM worked well for me too once I got the hang of it. It worked better when I sprayed from a little closer distance than what the directions said. Otherwise the dye was already too dry by the time it hit the panel. I would practice a little on something first.

    Any seat upholsterers out there?

FWIW if you do get a shop to do the job, tell them you need it done by a certain date and get them to agree on it. No offense to anyone but upholstery shops are notorious for taking a long time to finish.

I owned a '63 Belvedere that had an oval steering wheel. The '64 Valiant has a round steering wheel. Whether they could interchange, someone else will answer.

Any way to refresh white vinyl?

Good tip on being careful with strong chemicals. When I was a kid I used 409 on the dash of my Mom's Valiant, trying to be helpful, and it removed the lettering, Oops.

Any way to refresh white vinyl?

So yesterday I was looking over a very nice original old Fury convertible with vinyl seats. The piping had turned kind of yellow. Got me wondering if there's a way to get it looking nice and white again without detracting from the originality of the car.

Natalie is a 43 year old smoker

I always used a product specifically for car interiors, such as the one Armorall makes. Even then being gentle, using a soft brush, not using too much product and wiping the residue off with clean water. I remember as a kid I used 409 on my Mom's Valiant and it took the finish off the dash...

    Don't use 409. It's too strong.

Tungsten grey or white with blue interior or creamy yellow

White always looks good and will never go out of fashion. One of the disadvantages of grey is it blends in and it's harder for other drivers to see it...

In the first pic, the door panel has a burl 'wood' insert but around the cluster it's regular wood grain.

That is great. Just curious, has your car ever been damaged? Mine took a hit and I figure that's at least part of the reason why it creaks and clunks.
