Here’s a Question I Haven’t Seen On a Mopar Board Yet (Re: Alpine White)

I read somewhere the name Spinnaker White is because that sail was subject to the salt spray etc that would make it off-white.

water leaking inside thru cowl grate

If water is coming in a screw hole or seam, or even small rust holes, 3M rope sealant works great. O'Reilly's has it.

I agree generally, a modern color can look all wrong. Not always, but discretion is advised.

    Painting with a paint roller.

Oh...somehow I thought he did, thanks Rob for letting me know. Well as you say, it can be done and look good, and save a lot of money. If you get the second coat on within six hours, you don't even have to sand in between.

    Painting with a paint roller.

FABO member clhyer painted his Duster with a roller. I've seen the car and it's beautiful. It's white with black accents. Yes white is more forgiving. I believe he is happy he decided to use the roller technique. Some people would rather learn a new skill and spend considerably less.

You might not be kicking it hard enough. I had the same trouble and finally with a hard enough kick, the door opened.

Amy is thinking about changing tops...

I always think about this and also I like the looks of the white top better. Also it's safer because it's more visible to other drivers.

    can't open door

Get in the car, pull the lever and kick the door real hard and it will open. Then adjust the striker. That's all it took when I had the same problem.

Paint Tomorrow Need suggestion's on Paint color

You guys didn't see where he found out the rules don't allow metallic paint or orange. With those limitations maybe just go with a very light beige that won't cause too much glare when you're driving. Let the car's performance do the talking, not the paintjob. Look at Keith 66340's Valiant.

Paint Tomorrow Need suggestion's on Paint color

I'm a fan of Turbine Bronze, it's unusual but people like it, and it's a Mopar color as well as being period-correct so it will fit in with your nostalgia theme.

Help I had an accident today ...

By the way if you're not satisfied with what the Insurance Co offers you can usually persuade them to give more. What they pay out to fix our cars is small change compared to the new cars.

Help I had an accident today ...

Sorry about this, I know how you feel, when it happened to me a FABO member had the parts, you might start a new thread in parts wanted. Luckily our cars are tough, and fixable.

grump have you tried kicking the door real hard while you pull the door handle? My door seemed welded shut but I got it open with a hard kick then I was able to adjust it, went from a 3 door back to a 4 door lol.

Door won't latch on my '62 Valiant

Someone else may have a more complete answer...but I had the same problem on a c-body and moving the striker plate 'out' just a tad got the door to latch properly again. However now I have some wind noise.

    Body Color Combo Question

I don't know how many were made, but I do remember that combo from that era, not hugely popular but not too rare either. A neighbor lady had a '74 Mustang II, white with a green interior...she loved that car lol.

    Good body shop? Atlanta, GA

Spray-glo out Buford Hwy past the Pull-a-part treated me right. It's mom & pop owned (Ed and Shirleen) but at the same time you get the back-up of it being a franchise. The only issues I had were they painted over my pentastar emblem and my trunk lock, and they forgot to paint under my hood...
