Which set were you looking at? Everything I checked on their site would work with power steering. Checked Hedman, Patriot, Summit, Hooker Comp, and Hooker Super Comp. You need to click on applications to get the info.

Hooker makes a set of fenderwell headers that clears everything pretty well except the front tires. 6.95X14s are about as tall a tire as you can use on the street.

Those holes are there for the air injection system (smog). I just tap them and run in some Allen head plugs.

You can try www.stansheaders.com . They are in the same state (Auburn, WA) and don't want your first born and your left nut for a set. All I've ever bought from them was tubing and collectors to make a set of headers for my slant, so I can't say how their work is. I was happy with what I did get.

These headers will fit the engine, but they were made for street rod applications. I think the problem is on the drivers side because the collector and the steering box want to occupy the same space. I could be wrong, but I haven't seen center dump anything on the drivers side of an A body that...

Mancini Racing has Hookers (HKR5901) for $169.95 or Hedmans (HED78050) for $149.95. IMO the Hedmans are a better fit and don't require as many mods.

Haven't had a 318 yet that used a gasket between the manifold and the head pipe. No springs either. That's what the ball flange is for. Looks to me like you've already figured it out. Hope this helps. :wink:
