ok..upon further sleuthing..lol...I found the right fuse..no power either side till lite switch and tail lites are on..pull on lite switch and I get power thru the tan wire across fuse to orange wire...twist switch and voltage drops to a mity .3 volts...now my schem says volts[orange wire] to...

Ok ..so im thinking about all this last nite and I come up with the question..does the dash lites go thru the dimmer/rheo and main h/l switch to get power to the bulb part of the pcb..it has to or it couldn't be dimmed..unless the sytem dims by changing the ground effect ..if it changes voltage...

the only fuse I know about..it is in position num 1 in the main fuse box. a 3 amp.behind HL switch.is there a specia; inst fuse somewhere I don't know about.....j

ok tail and park lites work..i have power to orange and black and yellow stripe at the switch conn...iv had two diff swtiches in there no change..when I turn it all the way left dome should come on it does .....heater switch has wires going to it but no lite at shift.stick shift column.radio...

73 duster..factory service man...I added a ground wire to the case and tied it to column.checked for continuity..all pins are like new ..checked for cont with a jumper to batt all bulbs and holders are like new and working..all contact points are clean and tite...checked....lite wire brush..temp...

IV been fighting this dash and lights prob for a long time..im now really involved because the gas gauge wont work..iv got the diagram but an electrical wizard im not..i put in a great new gauge cluster today...I cleaned it up checked all bulbs cleaned all contact points on the board squeezed...

1996 ram 1500 gauge issues...gas gauge not working properly..fluctuates lite comes on at 11 gallons used..oil gauge up and down,,heat gauge very slow to heat up...does dodge use a voltage limiter on the gauge set in late models like this..any help appreciated..tx..j

So iv had time to get onto the wiring the last few days,,,brown wire connects at the switch connector same volt both sides..5.3..firewall connector both sides 5.3...at the ballast resistor 5.3 at the coil 5.1..blue wires at the both connectors ..11.8 resistor... 11.8 ign mod plug same...my...

Yes I am definately...I got rid of the bad gas..stuff wont even evaporate..lol....put in some chev super and stuck the old dist back in...pinging gone....now when I have a few minutes ill get another adv plate welded up and cut with shorter slots and try again...till then thanks all....j

The lastest ....today I spent a couple hours on wiring issues...I did the "electrical 101'thing today.after I watched the niniers get their butts handed to em.i checked for power at the switch connector. red and brown wire both had power...the red had 12 +volts coming in and the brown had 5.09...

ohhhh now l like that idea...now im chasing more gremlins...yes one prob is nasty gas,,,it has a additive in it and im not going to do anymore with it until I get a new adv plate welded and recut and burn that crap out of it..pistons are stock compression and hyd cam..165 across the board on...

carb 1405 with 1406 jetting and springs...rpm manifold erson tq20h cam 4 speed overdrive trans I think its 3.09 first gear but not sure..355 in the rear....pulled hose off dist and still kkkkkkkk......pinging..j

I cut the slots at .430 which is 30 degrees [checked]and my can is 11 so ill have to weld em up again and recut to get about 20.. ill run it and get the garbage gas out of there and put good gas back in and reset and retest...ill be back when that's all done..thanks all..j

ok.....seems all arrows are pointing at connectors....... firewall and switch connector.the mag pickup is new and recently installed and did the same thing with the one I took out so im now after reading going to look at the brownwire connection all the way thru and ALL connector...

Try a store in your area if you have an electrical supply house nearby ..such as frys or radio shack...have some small tools to help this...spade type that mopar used with the slot in the spade requires that you lightly pinch the slot together then tug on the wire..round ones like under dash...

Yes you are correct.the brkts in his pic will not work for his application.one of his brkts from the pic looks like a p/steering brkt..iv got sets from pre and after and none I have use it..The absolute best thing for him to do is to take up Oldmanmopar on his offer..a great deal and it WILL...

If the switch in your car lost its spring tension and you couldn't turn the starter off and you had starting probs with it what would you think..havnt time to look yet,busy with front wheel bearings on sons tercel.but when I do ill post.forgot ign and trunk and gas key on a split ring..no weight...j
