I paid 200 for this ‘70 225 slant and 904. Was told they both had 70k miles. Put the early a pan on it and did the timing chain. Had 145 lbs of cylinder pressure. Runs pretty good!

The best one I’ve ever used is the stromberg model W. No mating surfaces below the fuel level(doesn’t leak) and the castings are great. You’ll have to search a little for one but it’s the only 1bbl carb I’ll put on a slant.

Here is my newest acquisition. Bought a couple of months ago from member moparbrad(thanks again, buddy). The slant came to life nicely after sitting for several years.

Thanks trailbeast. I figured the hole wasn't original. It's weird that someone drilled it there when the carb is on a totally stock slant 6. I'll look for a replacement throttle plate as I really don't want anything falling into the motor.

So I have a new(to me) 68 dart with a 225 and the carb whistles. It's annoying!:D. I have replaced the base gasket, sprayed carb cleaner all over it to see if the idle changes etc. The whistle is definitely coming from inside the carb. So today I took the carb off and turned it upside down...
