    I’m looking on rockauto for a /6 valve cover gasket. Two choices: old design without spark plug tube seals. Or. Cast iron block. What are they talking about? Mine is a ‘71. I know I have a cast iron block. Just curious about the design variation.

    Not very knowledgeable on this but didn't some 225's come with 2 barrel Carter BBD's? That would be my selection. I would think without a camshaft change a 4bbl would be too much carburetor.

    With the overdrive, you could use the lower ratio 1st gear (2.74:1) in the transmission. It would be quicker off the line to help out with that 2.73 gear.

    You said that the rpm went from 500 to 650 , then the engine quit. sounds like the carb. went Lean and then the fuel quit flowing for whatever reason. Stuck float??? Give the bowl of the carb. a few taps with the handle of a screwdriver.
