Many years ago, I added a cassette deck to my 67 Dart. I used two 6x9s in the package tray. If I wanted to listen to crappy am radio, I turned the stock radio on, still hooked up to the front speaker. If I wanted to rock, I turned on the cassette deck. Much easier, and much better sound quality!

Is this just at an idle? I had one on my 77 W200, did the same thing. Going down the road , it smoothed out. I don't think the engine turns enough rpms at idle to "excite" the alternator. Someone smarter than me can give you a better explanation.

Ya, come on. I got a chuckle out of 67's reply too. Being as it looks like the OP has a 73 Duster, could the red light be part of a Fuel Pacer/keep it at 55mph-type economy option?

The problem I have with drl's is the fact that many people do not bother to turn their lights on when they should. IE foggy weather, blowing snow,rain...DRL's DO NOT in most cases turn on tail lights!!! Pet peeve of mine. How's that old saying go? Wipers on=lights on, something like that!

Same problem here on dad's 69 Dart. No temp or gas gauge. I pulled the plug off the back of the cluster on the left hand side. Plugged it back in, temp gauge now works. Am I right to assume I've probably got some loose pins in the circuit board? Gas gauge worked as recent as a few months ago...

Are you talking about the resistor mounted on top of the heater box? If so, your local parts store may be able to get it. Carquest supplied one for Dad's 69.

Ours was the Ebay special as well. Skip White, I believe. Couldn't beat the price, I just hope the longevity is there!

I don't know exactly which year they changed, but some of the newer mini's had different terminal ends. FWIW, I used one off a 93-95 Dakota, direct bolt-in!
