    whenever i loose a bolt , nut or a small clip i get my son with his metal dector 100% success rate so far lol i have big fingers that don't work the best anymore .

    i had a aeromotive fuel pump fail but it was on a dead head system so i'm sure this shortened it's life considerably . but i think there regulators and bypass regulators are of the highest quality .

    what you need is a return style regulator or a bypass reg if you have a hi pressure pump . with a dead head system which i understand you have no pump will last any amount of time .

    if you have a leak on the ends of your valley pan this will not cause a vacuum leak , maybe an oil leak but not vacuum . also it looks like your bottom timing gear has more than one keyway if so which one did you use ? or maybe it's a shadow .

    Living where I do back in the day before internet parts were hard to get so I would use SB chevie valve stem seals and they worked but we never had alcohol in our fuel .

    its a long story I explained it in another thread but he basically ruined my sending unit and screwed up the shipping , cost me over 200 bucks . I could of ruined it myself for nothing .

    cpearce to run an electric fuel system safely please run an inertia switch , the ford ones are cheap and easy to hook up .

    I run a 2'' spacer on a 418 mainly because my 950 hp has no port for a pcv valve and I had it laying around . when my engine was dynode, pulls were made with and without the spacer ,with the spacer there was a 3 hp increase through nearly the whole pull . so not much on my setup .
