    Control freak suspension

Gerst suspensions offers a 4 link set up. Other than that, if your already mini tubing it, why not use a generic 4 link or ladder bar set up?

cutting out inner fenders? replacing/removing PS?

This is how I set up my car

cutting out inner fenders? replacing/removing PS?

Run forward strut bars off your cage like I showed you a pic of yesterday, that will support the shock tower. If you go to coil overs you could just buy a kit like myself or HDK make and that comes with a re-reinforcement for the shock tower. I personally would rather tune a coil over than a...

    But joint on roll cage?

But where are the butt joints? Are they within the cage or outside of the cage? I know they are legal but I thought they were not legal within the cage. For instance you couldnt splice an A-pillar bar/door bar/ dash bar etc. But you could splice a forward strut bar, rear strut bars or...

    But joint on roll cage?

No! Are you building a roll cage or a roll bar? The sleeve needs to be inside the tube, not outside. Have you read the nhra rule book?

    But joint on roll cage?

Where are you wanting to put the splice? I believe it is acceptable as long as it is not within the actual cage. You can use this method on the forward bars or the rear bars but I do not believe it is acceptable within the cage itself.

Big Block power with better heads???

I, unlike most here could care less about putting Chevy parts in my mopar. What ever is the cheapest that does the job best is going to be my pick. I got flamed pretty hard on here for putting a TH400 in my car. With that said, I like the idea and option for an aftermarket block but if I got to...

    Question on Cages

Tube doesn't appear to be the correct thickness, I don't think that "box" would pass as it's not really even a box, the plates are not full welded, that tube on the plate isn't fully welded or even fully in contact with the plate, you can tell none of the joints were fitted properly and then...

    Question on Cages

I would cut that out and start over, that's not passing any certs that's for sure.

    Question on Cages

The plates do not need to be 6x6 but they do need to be the same amount of square inches as a 6x6 plate, for instance a 4x9 plate would be acceptable. You can bend the plates to match the floor shape, not sure about the boxes you describe without seeing a pic.

Cage welding? Holes in the roof?

Also, I don't remember the exact percentage but you can get away with only welding like 80% of the tube.

Cage welding? Holes in the roof?

This is the heat shield I was referring to. Tillman Aluminized Carbon Kevlar Back-Hand Pad

Cage welding? Holes in the roof?

I tucked mine really tight to the roof but I used one of those aluminum/mesh heat shields for stick welding and put as big of a socket as I could between the bar and the shield to make room and protect the head liner. Your headliner droops a lot so putting something in there to protect from...

    Motor plate questions.

I just mounted mine off the frame rails like this.

    Motor plate questions.

Your supposed to use a limiter to keep the motor from moving front to back. The motor plate only keeps the engine from rotating, you use limiters to stop movement front to back.

    NHRA, Roll cage question (s)

Yeah no need for sfi book if your not going faster than 8.50, there's nothing in the sfi book fir 8.50 and slower. You will not need a funny car cage either at 8.50 and slower. I think your over thinking this.
  21. junior636

    NHRA, Roll cage question (s)

Ok, how fast do plan on going? If your going faster than 8.50 I would suggest getting an sfi book. That is what you'll need for anything faster than an 8.50 cert cage.
  22. junior636

    NHRA, Roll cage question (s)

You said cage, are you just doing an 8.50 cert or what are you trying to do?
  23. junior636

    NHRA, Roll cage question (s)

TIG welding is much stronger when done properly, it also affects the material less leaving the material stronger as well. You can grind a bad weld out and re-do it but you can not grind down a bad weld for appearance or any other reason. If a grinder touches the weld you need to grind out and...
