Car is to lean , poss jet change , rods , that is what i had to do to my dart .I tried everything else , onced i changed jets and rods, and went to an orange spring. gone!! but i had to buy a recalibration kit here, could not purchase individual parts.

Was just wondering , with this valve there would have to be some restriction of flow , and running a big block , with prob 650 or bigger carb , is there any issues on the street highway ect .Does it seem to be getting the fuel.

The only way i see correcting it is a electric pump, or fuel injection!!!!!!!!!!!!

The fuel runs away from the carb to the tank .My dart does the same carb spacer will not help, i already had one on for 4 yeras now .Still have to pump it , to get enough fuel back up to the Carb .

Exactly if your AC does not work , do not have to worry about selonoid kicker , other than that simple to put a kit in .

I went with a #1406 600 edelbrock , on my 73 340 , had to change jets and , metering rods , and went with an orange spring in the kit to get rid of hesitation . A stock edelbrock is to lean for the 340 , it was on mine anyway , spacer plate , and you will need a #1481 edelbrock throttle cable...

Is there not a spring to tighten up the air door, i know if it is to loose the secondaries will not work, and they will not open at all if the primary door is not all the way open , or linkage could be wrong .I tell you what i did after 25 to 30 years of screwing with them , i put an edelbrock...

I do nor recall ever seeing that spring either, i still have about a dozen of these , and had them , and tried them over and over kit after kit , never to get them adjusted right , what a relief #1406 edelbrock electric choke , change jets and rods for the 340 , way you go.

If anything a stock 1406, shoud be way lean , i had to buy a calibration kit and up mine with jets and rods. on a stock 73 340

If i was you i would just get a square bore gasket ,leave the shim out , it to no advantage to you , that gasket i am not sure what it is , maybe holley, does not even look like a spread bore .What i used on my dart was a gasket 1 inch spacer another gasket then the 1406 eddy , and i purchased...

It will make it misserable if you do not take it down , you have to get the lock of the top of the tank unhook fuel lines , and a power line for the gauge .Iwould run it very low on gas , put a jack under tank , let it down enough to get your lines and power wite , then take it to the ground ...

If you are going to use a 600 edelbrock , the bracket for the side, for throttle pressure and cable is #1481 edelbrock lots on ebay.

You can buy them aftermarket, i purchased one from carquest i will post the part number tomorrow it is in a Wells box thinking the part numer is a e623 but not sure , i am at work now .

like it easy to set the choke and fast idle , if you can find one with the throttle shaft not worn out that was the problem

I am going to change from t quad to 600 manual choke edelbrock , is there anything wrong with using a new ther quad base gasket on 600 edelbrock seems like it seats real nice but not sure what to expect.Thanks alot Rickj L.
