@Rat Bastid is and has for years, I have one as well but it's waiting for me to install it!, I think there are a few others on here as well.

    Bang for the Buck Thread

Streetable, fast as possible, future upgrades, small cam already, 8.25 rear end, I would do 100-150 shot of nitrous with a progressive controller and keep everything as is down to the converter. That should make the parts you have now survive and have a blast running low 12s possibly a high...

That's because one is leading the other and they are out of sync, you need to build a carb sync and adjust accordingly. Edelbrock 4025 Edelbrock Uni-Syn Carburetor Balancing Instruments | Summit Racing

    340 Heads

Check out the edelbrock 60179 it might work but don't know for sure, If the current heads are done nicely I would question getting any benefit performance wise though.

    Custom ground camshaft, low power

Just a thought but you mentioned you have stealth heads on the engine, did you bolt them on out of the box?,if you did theres probaly light showing between the valve and seat.I have yet to see a set of aluminum heads (anybodys) that does not need a valve job to be correct,I have seen them run but...

    Custom ground camshaft, low power

That sounds like an old erson grind, low lift and mild ramps, similar to a comp 280 magnum but a bit smaller. What are the heads as far as performance?,how they are done is a major factor with regards to the cam.

    Purple Shaft 280/280 cam

Streetability really boils down to tuning and what a person likes.I know of several people inlcuding my brother that run cams with around 5in. of vaccum at idle and they perform excellent on the street,we make a cruise to the beach (2hr. drive) every year and its done great for the last five...

    Purple Shaft 280/280 cam

They are supposed to be four degrees adavanced when installed straight up(110/106 for the 280),most however are off and need to be moved. The couple I have installed lately were both retarded four degrees from reccomended install and needed to be advanced four degrees.

    Purple Cam Design Question

Purple cams are actually pretty aggressive, thats when advertised vs. .050 still played a big role in determining a cams aggressiveness and as the specs show mopars have more duration at .050 vs. advertised than others of that time. One of the reasons for lower lifts across the board had alot to...

What crackedback said is true,I have personally checked over $3,500 heads that were cnc ported ect. and they needed work, the customer even got in a heated argument with brodix because they said he was being lied to.For the goals your looking for you can keep it pretty simple, myself I would...

    Question for head porters

Hey,your not to far from me,I do a few heads on the side for myself and others so if you ever are in the area and would like to check them out feel free.I use a makita now but used to use air,it took some getting used to but now I swear by electric.I dont use a speed control but rather go by...

    test/tune/confussed

Years ago a friend had the same problem-no red flags-turned out his cam was ground wrong, was yours degreed?.Even poorly tuned that thing should blow those little tires off-will it power brake?,also what rpm is the engine stalling at while foot braking?-just a few ideas.

    Why Are Edelbrock Cams Unpopular

There used to be more choices,I dont know about that grind for sure but I remember a few others listed that are long gone,p.a.w. phased out a bunch of grinds in their s.s.i. line as well a few years back-that is back when comp and lunati ect. werent nearly as economical for cam and lifter packages.

how much difference between 3.91 and 4.10

All automatics have some slippage, and it can be better or worse depending on how the stall was built, usually a auto will run a couple hundred more to run the same speed as a manual trans car. There are calculators that can tell you how much slippage you have but you need to have the mph and the...

    best headers??

My buddy has a 68 cuda with a 340 4 speed all stock,I told him Ive heard alot of horror stories about ttis and 4 speeds and he said he called their tech a couple times and they said no problem.I told him to let me know how that gos, well he did and they were far from a couple simple...

finally ran the car at the track

I had no luck with the bfgs, had to baby them off the line no matter what,I switched to mts and ran a 1.68 60 immediately with 28 psi.I would think with tuning you should be able to run somewhere in the mid 12s around 106 mph with that engine. In my experience the mph can be a little decieving in...

building a FAST legal small block

    New heads/intake/rear end

I just read all this and I have been involved with some real numbers regarding the m1 and the std. victor. The m1 made more tourque thoughout the range and the same average horspower, the victor did peak with a few more h.p. but it was out of the the average range and was pretty insignificant.If...
