    Another 904 trans ID

I have 4 999's from 74-78 Cordoba's and Magnums, and they all have the PK numbers on them. Sometimes they didn't get the stamping very deep, like can't see it at all.

Does anyone know what driveshaft I need for a 904 to 8.75 rear

I can look it up later, I'm on my way out the door.

Does anyone know what driveshaft I need for a 904 to 8.75 rear

Just have to figure out the centerline of your axles to the centerline of the U joint, and have your shaft shortened that amount of the difference. If the 8 3/4 has the big yoke you'll have to get a conversion u-joint.

5/8-18 fem. to 5/8-18 fem. speedo cable

There is a place called Speedometer Cables USA in Colorado, phone 888-907-6506 that will custom make a cable to your spec. Reasonable to. I found a 1975 NOS Cruise Control package for an A body for my 67 Dart, so the cable from the speedo to the CC servo had the 68 and up slip plastic speedo...

HGM Electronics has the Compushift unit that controls everything. A couple years ago, they were around 375.00. Then they became unavailable, now, they are available again for a price of over 700.00.

    Trip To A&A Transmission.. WOW!

I have a neat little story concerning A&A if anyone is interested. Quite a few years ago I went to a guys Demo Derby auction. He was getting a divorce and needed to liquidate all of his stuff. This was back when the Derby guys were still using big Chryslers. It was mostly Mopar stuff. There...

    8 1/4 issues?

There's a year break in there someplace. I had the same thing happen years ago, when I was putting a SureGrip in my 74 8 1/4 with a new bearing kit.

    1970 904 Rebuild

Is this TF-3 the manual valvebody? It's been a long time since I used a Trans-go. If you are retaining the automatic shift, I would highly recommend installing an A&A part throttle kickdown kit. It's so much more enjoyable to drive.

    Rear End

My 71 Polara in my avatar had been sitting in a junkyard for close to 30 years. When I was working on it to get it back on the road, I pulled the pumpkin out expecting to find at least flash rust on the gears that weren't in the oil. It was perfect. No rust, clean oil, the axle seals were nice...

Finally a controller for the 42RE on the market...anyone know anything about it?

HGM Electronics has a Compu-shift Mini. I don't think it works with the electronic trans though. Their website says out of stock because of Supply Chain Shortage. This is the one I would buy if available.

Change a 904 to manual valve body

I kind of wonder why Chrysler didn't install manual valve bodies in every automatic car they ever built then?

Change a 904 to manual valve body

People put manual valve bodies in their transmissions because they are either to lazy to source the parts, or are inept in being able to fabricate what they need. I hate manual valve bodies and I have never used a cable setup. I have helped probably 20-25 people to get their kickdown in...

    Anyone running a 904 behind a 340?

Both your 76 Charger and the 75 Cordoba had the 999 transmissions. You must be doing something wrong or maybe not had the kickdown adjusted correctly. The 999's are pretty tough. Just saying.

    273/904 Kickdown

I know on the 65 and 66, that the kickdown and throttle brackets are separate. the throttle cable bracket is mounted on a little square boss as the pictures show. And the 4 barrel and the 2 barrel brackets are different. And the throttle arm on the AFB is different than the Edelbrocks. PM me...

    1972 dart 360 with 904

The variant of the 904, the 999 WAS used behind the 360-2 barrel engines from 74-79. After that, I don't care. I doubt that they used two jillion behind the 360's though. The 360-4 Barrel engines did use the 727.
