XRF Chassis parts out of Canada supposedly produces alot of the MOOG line, even using the MOOG part numbers. I think they have dealers in the US. I haven't used any of their stuff yet, but will next time I need something. the prices seem on parr with anything else.
My best friend, when we were 16, got a 68 Dart GTS 340. It was a nice car. His brother gave him a pair of deep dish slotted chrome wheels. He mounted some L60-14's He put airshocks on with the extensions. The back bumper of the Dart sat about chest level, needless to say he wrecked the car...
You don't want to carry heavy items inside the passenger compartment. I had a friend get killed by a metal tool box that was on the front floorboard of his pickup, he had a roll over accident. The heavy item was extremely fatal.
Problem solved! The cop cars, when they started coming out with the firm feel steering boxes, had the aluminum part that comes out of the box straight. Not 45 degree like all of the others. It looks to me that the metal nipple is shorter also. Roughly '75 and up cop cars and possible all of...
Many years ago, I would buy them from the Chrysler dealer, then NS1, then I bought them from Mancini and somewhere along the line they started sending me just the regular round U bolts. So its nice to see they are available again from Mancini.
I don't know. Ford used them also-just the flattened with no gripper pattern on them. I know that I have seen quite a few axle tubes actually pinched by the round bolts
Then Chrysler must have installed the flattened bolts only in certain parts of the country, because everyone I have taken apart has had the flattened gripper bolts. Chrysler started using them back in the 1930's All of my 38 Plymouths have had them.
I think they have two different catalogs now. You have to look for individual bolt selection. The U bolts are B-11502 for the 6 5/8 inch and B-11503 for the 7 1/8 inch. They are 24 dollars for two u bolts, they have the correct deep locking nuts available also.
It is just www.amkproducts.com. They have all kinds of neat original bolts and such. If you order anything, ask for their paper catalogs. It's nice to know that a person can get all of these correct bolts.
Don't buy the Mopar ones-the spring bolt centering hole is to big. I think Competition Engineering has the ones with the 1/2 inch hole, if they are in business yet. I don't remember seeing their ads for quite a while.
I installed ESPO 1" extra arch about 15 years ago on my 67 273 Dart. It always sat a little higher that I was hoping. I just carry everything but the kitchen sink with me. I have about 15,000 miles and they are just starting to settle a little bit. I would recommend ESPO to anybody looking...
Lowering blocks are not a good thing. Maybe on a pimpmobile but not on a car with drag radials. I think you'll have a more of a tendency to have wheel hop. Let us know how it works out.
Use Slick 50 1 Lube spray, it's a real heavy silicone spray. It works great for most everything. Once you buy some you will never be without it. I usually buy 4 or 5 cans at a time, so I don't run out. I've given away cans to most of my friends to try, they all love it. The only place I can...
XRF Chassis parts sound like good quality parts, they use the same part number as Moog. Supposedly manufactured in Canada. Also ProForged seem to be very good quality. I just used some of these on my 67 Coronet, and was very impressed with the way they looked-a lot nicer than Moog parts. Quite...
1" on my 67 Dart. It sits a lot higher than I liked. I figured they would settle after a while. I can't say that they have. Still sits high. Again 1" maximum.
You don't happen to remember how long they were in business do you? I purchased mine in 1986 or 87. I have a 1989 catalog but don't remember seeing any advertisements much after that.
Anyone on here purchase and install a set of these California Suspension torsion bars back in the late 80's? I bought a set of 1.14 bars for mu 69 Coronet R/T. Fast forward-I had removed them 13 years ago and am installing them in my 67 Coronet. From what I remember, I had my adjustment...
