Best bet is to get a harness from Hotwire and have them flash your ECU. Or a Mopar performance harness and ECU. Or a 2005 truck ECU for $75...

    I had same issue. The passenger side dome light socket was grounding to the panel when I would put the lens cover back on. It could be either driver or passenger side lamp holder. I just put electrical tape on the solder joints.

    Yellowish is a sign of arcing the brush should have even wear all the way across the end look for scoring. Hopefully you don't have 50 year old wiring as a new alternator will be higher amp. May cause more issues. Don't quote me in that. But if your wiring is old I would replace. Car fires...

    Sounds like the brush is not seated properly on the Comutator Rotating element. You could have high bars on it. Is brush yellow and bluish on end.

    Conversions- Joe's Classic Car Radio These guys can upgrade your original if you have it. I have seen others non-mopar use that product you posted and are happy with them even with big woofers and amps.

I tried to buy the circuit board to do it but only dealers can buy it I searched the dark web for it. No luck. I know...
