    1962 Valiant Signet 200

On the 62 Lancer? No idea. He never drove it, someone brought it to him to junk and he just kept it with all the rest, knowing it was unique way back then.

    WIW 62 Lancer

I think it's worth saving. I said it before, my Dart was just as bad or worse. It's stuck in my brain still.

No idea, if it's not in the pics I do not know.

1960-1962 Valiant & Lancer Cowl Drain Flap Interchange & Source

The ones on my 62 were there, a little dried out. They were holding back debris from flowing out, even brand new it seems they would. What is the purpose of these?

1967 Barracuda fastback fender tag deciphering

This is what me thinks at this point. SPD is definitely Scheduled Production Date. 118 is definitely January 18, 1967. Customer ordered cars have 691 on the IBM card and the broadcast sheet, and u1 on the fender tag. The 67 conv above has neither. It was however shipped on 5/2/1967 and...

1967 Barracuda fastback fender tag deciphering

Then After 118 SPD must mean something else. It seems reasonable that, most likely, SPD = Scheduled Production Date. Is "After 118" the number of days, as in that Mopar days calendar?

1967 Barracuda fastback fender tag deciphering

Scheduled Production Date was 4/25/1967, Actual Shipped Date was 5/2/1967. SPD was on the broadcast sheet and fender tag. The Actual Shipped Date was only on the IBM build card. Car had a Scheduled Production Date after 1/18/1967, therefore it was designated for Line 2 build. Sounds like they...

1967 Barracuda fastback fender tag deciphering

Remember this car? Scheduled Production Date was 4/25, Actual Shipped Date was 5/2. GG decoded it as: M2 Designated Line 2 Build After 118 SPD My guess is 118 SPD = January 18, Scheduled Production Date. I checked a number of cars I kept data for and it seems to check out. What is significant...

1967 Barracuda fastback fender tag deciphering

My 67 Barracuda has M2 on the fender tag, no bumper guards. I have the IBM build card, nothing on the IBM that is not accounted for on the fender tag. Low option car.

Definitely not Hamtramck. Iirc, it's Line 2 Build.

1967 Barracuda fastback fender tag deciphering

M2 is on my fender tag as well. All options/codes accounted for, and it only has a few. I have the IBM build card, along with the letter from Chrysler Historical listing all codes and meanings. M2 is the only one left out. Having looked at multiple IBM cards, fender tags, buildsheets, VINs...

1967 Barracuda fastback fender tag deciphering

I would agree with this, however I heard it = Hamtramck as the 7th digit in the VIN is 2 which = Hamtramck Assy-Detroit. I'm talking 67 here.

Picture or description of lug nuts for mopar rally rims

Check this out at 21:34, or a bit earlier. These match the RH and LH lug nuts that came off my wheels. The standard lug nuts I was using temporarily, as I switched to all RH, did not fit the holes in the wheels.

    1962 Valiant Signet 200

Absolutely. We will be repairing it in the future. I found lower fender patch panels but only available overseas, where these cars are extremely popular. There are still salvage yards in the US with parts cars, just need to save up for some rust free metal. I completely repaired our 62 Dart...

    Pushbutton Back-up Switch

Fixed. Removed switch, there is a tiny spring that wasn't throwing the mechanism all the way, adjusted and cleaned it up. One light worked, remembered I was smart and ran a ground wire from my ground hub by the battery to the rear for just this issue, rusty metal and they are grounded to the...

    Pushbutton Back-up Switch

1962 Valiant pushbutton auto, has factory reverse lights, fuse/wiring is good, has power to the switch, can jump it to the other side and reverse lights will come on. Switch is in pic under pushbutton assembly, white wires are soldered to it. Checked for a back-up switch, none listed. Are...

    1962 VALIANT/6 to V8 SWAP

I've heard installing a big block with the exhaust manifolds dumping out the front is easier than a small block. I know there is at least one on YouTube with a 383.

Correct 1962 Valiant Dash Knobs Color?

Do the pushbuttons light up like the b-body ones? My guess is no, as the Lancer knobs and pushbuttons were black. On a side note, the original steering wheel from my 62 Dart is slightly translucent, unlike over-restored steering wheels, but the 62 Valiant wheel is not.

    1962 Valiant Signet 200

I'll have to try that, thank you. I know at least up to 67 you have to lock the door after it is closed.

    1962 Valiant Signet 200

I guess if I want to lock the doors from the inside I'll have to put the key out the window and lock it. The front seats don't lock in position either, but that is typical up to at least '67.

    1962 Valiant Signet 200

Good to hear that, I wasn't 100% sure. I ordered some tune up parts and other things to get it safe and legit to put it back on the road. There's no interior door lock thingy on this car!
