Trick flow 240 review along with flow number comparison to other aluminum heads

92b … maybe you fat fingered the diagree icon . But if not where were all the Hemi eating bigblock Chevies in 1966-1971? Hell … how many could outrun a 440-6 ? At the time the 915 heads were appropriate for the cam profiles , compression ratios , weight and gearing of daily driven cars . The...

    New roller cam...

Lol.. I know that . But I do believe hyd flat cams and lifters are not what they used to be. Or maybe it’s just the agressive lobes and higher spring pressures.

    New roller cam...

Well … a slant might have #150 lbs of spring pressure so it’s not really stressing the lobes . But the more aggressive cams that most guys are running today will require stouter springs.

    New roller cam...

I’m not full of money . Thats why I opted to go roller from now on . The cost of 2+ cams failing on a rebuild is more than the cost of a mid level roller set up . I opted to build a 5.9 after several cam failures . shoulda done it from the getgo ! Would have saved me an easy $1000 . I...

    500+ horse 440

I would not have guessed that much …. Wow ! My 70 Charger scaled 3900 with full trim and a 440. That car ran 12.30s @ 111 mph in Seattle. Nothing more than stock bottom end , 906s with MP porting templates , Hooker headers , 6 pak , and a .550 solid roller cam. 3.55 gears….

    Which 440 to buy?

On a C-Class you can remove the whole radiator support and pull it out the front . If it is an engine that will be rebuilt I would pull intake and heads in the MH before yanking.

    440 build for a tow rig/"muscle" truck?

Get ahold of Mike Jones . He has a custom grind for towing and torque . Wont cost much more than an off the shelf cam .

    440 build 500+ hp build

I had a 440 in my 70 Charger that would run 12.30 @ 111mph. Car weighed 3900+ . That calculates out to just over 500 hp. Stock New Yorker bottom end 9:1ish comp. 906s ported .550 solid roller -dont recall duration but it was mild. 2" headers thru 2.5 full exhaust 6-pack intake 3.55 gears I...

    Intake Choice for 400/512 Stroker

I would forget about HP and focus on robust driveshafts and axles . Make yourself a TORQUE MONSTER and forget about horsepower. You will have a really driveable car and amazing ETs. Probably a ported RPM intake for that combo .
