Well … a slant might have #150 lbs of spring pressure so it’s not really stressing the lobes . But the more aggressive cams that most guys are running today will require stouter springs.

I had a similar Crane roller in a 440-6 and it was super docile on the street and pushed my 70 Charger to 12.30 with 3.55s and full trim 3900+ lbs

On a C-Class you can remove the whole radiator support and pull it out the front . If it is an engine that will be rebuilt I would pull intake and heads in the MH before yanking.

In your area. And trany may be correct for your application because its a C Class

Get ahold of Mike Jones . He has a custom grind for towing and torque . Wont cost much more than an off the shelf cam .

Are early 383 heads closed chamber ? If so that may be the difference.

I would forget about HP and focus on robust driveshafts and axles . Make yourself a TORQUE MONSTER and forget about horsepower. You will have a really driveable car and amazing ETs. Probably a ported RPM intake for that combo .

Exactly ! I just went thru this exact thing . Fresh build on a 408 with W2s. Ran in up and down the road a few times then blew a freeze plug first time I revved past 7k.... Pulled the motor and had everything checked . Turns out I had ring gap and bearings too tight and 1st machine shop...

Within range but something is off about them all being on the same bank . At least they offset each other in the firing order.lol
