    My new shop thread!

We finally put up a used VBM Automotive 2 post lift. This sucker is American made, heavy as all get out and has already lasted a lifetime. I bought it a year ago, and finally got around to renting a forklift to get her into position.

    Seller Beware of dartgt500

I would have to say that 99% of the people I have worked with buying and selling parts are honest folk and their word is good. Unfortunately, it is the 1% that leave a bad taste. Trust but verify, as my dad says. I bought an engine from a guy in Utah many years ago. Sent the payment but...

    My new shop thread!

We purchased a heating panel from Hydro Shark in Minnesota. All we had to do was hook up the 2 50 amp 240v breakers and 1 inch copper line to the manifolds that feed the PEX pipe in the concrete slab. It takes a long time to change the temperature, but once it gets up to heat, the slab holds the...

    wood burning stove

We just bought and installed a Kodiak by Enviro fireplace insert wood stove. Very few catalytic stoves are sold anymore as they have figured out how to reburn the smoke using air tubes at the top and meet the EPA emissions limits. They also installed a stainless steel chimney liner, so cleaning...

    My new shop thread!

We got good news that the power company approved our request for underground hookup. So now we dig a trench and lay Schedule 80 pipe and they will come in an run line from the transformer on the power pole to our meter box on the shop. I have my fingers crossed that we will have power by this...

    My new shop thread!

Overhead lights are in. All wall outlets (120 and 240) are installed and the breaker box and meter box are in. Now we just have to convince the power company that it is OK to run an underground supply line from their transformer 15 feet across the right of way for their high voltage power lines...

    My new shop thread!

We are finally at the stage of running wire. Emily is pulling Romex through the wooden loft area we put conduit though the rest of the metal building. I decided an over abundance of outlets and circuits was good, but it does increase the time devoted to the job. I would like to minimize...

A great day in the Pacific Northwest as evidenced by the beautiful view of Mt Rainier behind the Manmansion. Got the first of the shelves built and put in place with the help of the scissor lift.

    My new shop thread!

Thanks for moving my car..... I have been doing some research to finish the inside of the shop. Electrical and airlines are next. I was going to run Schedule 40 PVC lines like I did in my two car garage at home, but I came across this interesting bit from the government concerning PVC and...

    My new shop thread!

Feels good to get the walls enclosed. We were lucky to have some nice weather to put the siding in as it helps to keep the insulation dry.

J.R. I'm not sure I would have had the restraint not to ***** slap her and her boyfriend. I salute you (and Nikki). And I love how even after the accident she parks daddy's Subie on the sidewalk! She needs to buy a bus pass and get the f*** off the road.
