    Intake manifold blockade?

That tin is a heat shield. The exhaust crossover gets so hot it will cook the oil splashing on that part of the intake. There is no access to the passage from under that plate.

    318 2bbl BBD flow? Improvements?

Is low speed drivability important? Anyhow back in the late 80's we had to run a certain rochester 2bbl on our dirt cars but you could do anything you wanted to it. It just had to retain factory appearance externally. There were guys boring the houseing out and installing bigger butterflys...

    Edelbrock AVS V/S Street Demon

RRR I will PM you. So after more research The demon has 1.38" primaries and the 650 AVS has 1.44" primaries. Don't know what difference 0.060" x2 would do to cruise speed efficiency. Just passed on a new out of box AVS2 for 275$ I like the demon reviews and cant really find many on the AVS. it...

    Edelbrock AVS V/S Street Demon

Not really worried about performance. its about no bogs and good drivability. here in texas if you aren't doing 75 in a 60 you are in the way so need highway gears. I have a 100 mile commute and could use some better fuel economy than the 15mpg I'm getting. This is what I'm driving. Its a 77...

    Edelbrock AVS V/S Street Demon

Quick question I'm thinking of changing out my carter comp 600 afb with a AVS style carb. Which carb would you get ? the edel AVS or the Street Demon . Its for my 77 b body 318/904 -2.71 rear. I'm looking for smoother acceleration and better fuel economy like anyone now days. also the electric...

    Anyone running a Kendig/Predator Carburetor?

I ran one on a dirt track car for years. idle was not great but I didn't care about idle. response from mid range on up was awesome. There was a Idle improvement kit available at one time but not sure about now. Once i had that carb tuned to the motor it was start it and run it. all the holley...

Well I'm new in this town and don't have anyone that I can store the car with. best "square flange" carb for millage?

Another member sugested disconecting the secondaries and wireing them shut and that I should be able to reduce the jet size and that should help milage as much as a diffrent carb. I'm going to try it as it wont cost me anything to try. Along these lines if you were to put a diffrent cam in this...

best "square flange" carb for millage?

First the intake I have is for sq bore only. #7507 and I really don't have room for an adaptor. So square bore it is. I would have a TQ on it if it would bolt up. As for the build it's the way it is due to economics. I had a 30 over block and the heads and intake and headers and carb and cam...

best "square flange" carb for millage?

Ok so I have been driving my duster to work every day. I live in a area that I can't park a car outside so unless I am willing to sell the duster {NOT!} I will have to keep driving it. I have a 60 mile round trip and need to optimize my millage. Current configuration is 360+.030" 8.5-1 comp...

    holley 650 jets

Well the 64's worked but if I idled for more than 5 minutes the temp started to go up. So as I had to take the car to work I put the 67's in with a 6.5 power valve. It runs good and has just a slight surge a 70mph or 2850rpm I think that the timing is just a bit advanced as I'm running the...

    holley 650 jets

I have it all togather with the 64's so I'll try it but I'm sure you right and If I have any surging I'll change to the 67"s and put the 7.5pv in then.

    holley 650 jets

So right now I have 64's front 3.5 PV and 74's in the rear. I adjusted the idle with the vacuum guage and at 800rpm I have 15hg vacuum. I have a 7.5 PV so it sounds like I should put that in. Am I correct in understanding that the PV opens and enriches the fuel when the vacuum drops below its...

    holley 650 jets

It's a 4 sp car and I just pulled the rears out and they are 78's. The list # on the carb is 4777-4 {11} with 2065 under the list#. I'm sure these aren't original jets because i got it used although in very clean condition. So from what I've read on here it likely had 67's front and 75"s rear...

    holley 650 jets

I already have the "other" no stick gaskets in it and so far so good but I do know what you mean. I have a set of 67's here and just picked up a new vacuum guage so later today I'll check it out. I'll pull the rear bowl off and check those jets just to see whats in there. So I'm getting the...

    holley 650 jets

I have a 4777 on my mild 360 340 cam and headers and alum dual plane intake. had 68 jets in front and a unknown (no markings?)power valve. Just running a little rich and wondering what everyone would suggest as a good starting point for jets and power valve. i have 74,67,64, jets and a 3.5...
