I don't know any other way than to take out the glass first. Screws that hold the clips go into the body metal perpendicular to the channel that holds the glass. Be careful getting the glass out. Rear window is fairly easy. Front windshield can be a real bear. FWIW good luck.

I was using new filler (Dynalite), but an old tube of hardener.......threw it away and started using a new one..........problem solved. thanks for all the feedback.......james

What are the secrets for mixing (or applying it to car)? I have tried several ratios of harderer/filler in the mix, but it always dries with a sticky surface that clogs sandpaper at first. I can rub baby powder on it before doing any sanding and it helps, but there must be a better way. It seems...

As near as I can tell, none of the paints actually "separated" (lifted) from the steel panel. It has urethane primer under the AF paint. It's just a rough surface, like a "matte" paint finish. So I think only the Centari lifted. I'll look at it tomorrow and probably just sand everything smooth...

The AF paint was applied about 3-4 years ago, and most of the clear has been sanded off. The Centari was applied about 24 hrs ago and has hardener in it. Think I'll wait until tomorrow, sand the panel smooth, and try the thin coat approach. I have some sealer, just want to see if I can make...

Thanks for the replies. I'll follow your recommendations and get some aerosol urethane(ur) to cover the areas I'm re-working. Then I'll apply a complete coat of ur. It will probably be a few weeks before I get the car painted. Just gotta get it done before cold weather.

I did not get enough hardener in the 2-part spot putty. I could tell while applying it, but thought some extra cure time would solve the problem. It's been almost 2 days since it was applied. It is solid and semi hard, but not hard enough to sand...........it clogs the paper. What's the best...

I did one on a 68 GTS. Used an airbrush. Takes lots of masking and patience. My biggest problem was the panel had a few small dents in it. So, it's not show quality, but looks good enough for a driver and weekend cruise in. Sorry, I don't have any pics.
