Got the akward trans linkage worked out.Wasn't sure if the aftermarlet stuff was right for my 6 pack and 904 trans so I made my own with factory 318/904 parts.The first pic is just to show the section I removed fron the throttle bracket that had to come off to clear the intake tunnels.It's hard...

Before you drop the pan try running one of those flexible magnet wands(you know the tool grabber tool)down thru the opening while the timimg cover is still off,maybe you can get it that way.I know trying to get the oil pan sealed back is a huge pain especially in the car.

Sorry to hear this.Even the most experianced builder has a "doh" moment.I doubt that tiny piece flows out with the oil especially if it settles to the bottom but no harm in trying.You could drag a magnet along the pan towards the drain hole maybe that will catch it.

A little more work done.I fianlly got to put my seat covers on.I bought them from PG Classics.The rear seat was very tight but the front lower and both back rests were snug but not to tight that I couldn't easily install them.

thanks,yeah all the ones I've seen,doing research,have stuck up a little in the front above the fender line.Even the charger I seen stuck up and had a hood support right over the breather but had no issue with clearance. Thats some good info in the link you posted also.

I have the same parts cleaner works good in a pinch and it stores well lol.I use mineral spirits,cleans gunk with no "oh I need some water to get this cleaner off my hand".Motor is coming along nicly.
