    swapping a 440 into a a body

if you got an extra 3k get the hemidenny kit. gives you way more room, more options for engines (small block, big block B, big block RB, gen 3 hemis, gen 2 hemi), tighter steering, coil overs, very sturdy kit... also it replaces all your front end parts in one swoop. and drop about 50 pounds...

    Performer RPM intake?

well one option i may have to go with is a 2" high air filter with one of those fancy filter tops according to the calc on their site, i need 400 cid X 6000 (max rpm) / 20,839 or 115 square inches for a 2" high X 14" diameter filter, the area is so that is 14 X 3.14 X 1.25 or = 55 sq...

To Six Pack or Not to Six Pack

for the 6pak money you could go efi. 4bbl would be to save money. EFI are what many are going to nowadays, as the price has come down some. works better than carbs, easier to tune and better mpg. and more power. again 4bbl carb is by far the cheapest route. 6pak you will be buying lots of doodads

Suggestions needed for a carb and convertor

lots of people are going with the bolt on efi's now instead of carbs. tunes itself across all the ranges (self learning) so you end up with max hp at all rpm's. the bad: costs big $$$ and then you need upgraded fuel supply system as well. but yeah holley 950 or look into a pro systems 950 for...

    Heads, how much gain?

my eddy rpm's for my 400 B were fine out of the box... the machine shop checked everything over. the only thing they did was slightly mill them to bring the comp up to 10:1 and make the intake match up better since they zero decked the block... but i was a lucky one.

mild build 440 7qt oil pan.. oil pump ?

HV is dangerous, you can run out of oil quickly at the pickup. If you keep the oil at the proper level, and have that 7qt pan it has advantages. for a street car, at 2000 rpm stuck in traffic on a 95 degree day, you will still have great oil pressure. it also allows you to run 10/30 or 10/40...

The time has come... 440 freshen for B-body

i'd keep the polara together, get a 440 or 400 from a salvage yard and go after that instead get it all built up and plunk it in. i'd also see if a local machine shop will help you learn / help you port the heads. that way you avoid some mistakes plus they can help you clearance everything...

    Race blocks

if you got the money get a gen2 hemi. it can do 7 ,8 ,900 hp on pump gas. gonna cost you 18k-20k though, pan to carb(s) http://raybarton.com/parts/index.php/engines/street-series-hemi.html but to be honest, when you pay 5k for an aftermarket B or RB block, then your stroker kit 2k+, then all...
