´68 BB vs SB K-Member difference?

SB A body K frames were modded into B/RB k frames "after" the basic K was pulled from the jig with the steering box, LCA, and idler arm locations welded in. From there they were modded into a B/RB K frame. I have seen a few of em, and quite honestly the first time I saw one, it looked to me like...

    Intake porting/blending

Looks like a pound of aluminum shavings need to be made out of the inside of that thing.

    Intake porting/blending

I would think every little bit helps. Any abrupt step or transition affects airflow rate, not in a good way. Turbo or supercharged engines that little step isnt terribly noticable, but on a N/A engine even one that's not really high HP, keeping the air flowing smoothly will help with efficiency...

    1.6 verses 1.5 rockers

I could be wrong, but I think the 1.6 ratio is to add to the cam lift. Shorter pushrods kind of negating the 1.6 ratio advantage.

    Fuel pump pushrod plug stripped.

Roy as far as I know, only if your gonna put in an electric pump.

Those that have used a 440 distributor adapter for a low deck...

Mopar performance used to sell em all the time. I kinda doubt they would sell something like that if there were lubrication issues with the shaft.

    Flywheel size?

2 different flywheel sizes based on which big block bellhousing you have. I ran into this issue in the early 1990s building a 440 4 speed 69 charger. I cannot remember the ring gear teeth count on the ring gears. I think it was a flywheel for 11" clutch, and a flywheel for a 10.5" clutch. I do...

Got a friend going to look at a 68 fury 383 for the engine

Got a friend going to look at a pretty beat 68 fury with a 383 / 727 combo for the engine and trans out of it. I told him if you can get it to turn over, try to make a deal on it. Dry climate and hood still on the car, so engine shouldn't be stuck. If it has the A body specific block with the...

Keep hearing about frame twist with 440s

And that is why he needs to specify that, otherwise he is giving bogus knowledge to people who are not into the kind of driving he is into. Honestly though saying a chassis needs to flex or it will crack is BS. Take a piece of sheet steel and bend it back and forth in a vise and it will cold...

Keep hearing about frame twist with 440s

I used 1/8" thick 2x3 box as well. Layed it 3" wide, 2"tall. The box steel laying it flat only sticks up 1/2" through the rear seat foot pan. Extra padding on either side when you put the carpet down, and nobody will ever see it. I also made 1/8" thick transition plates to transition the load...

Keep hearing about frame twist with 440s

I watched the video of Uncle Tony talking about these cars supposed to have flex, and without built in flex they would crack. He obviously doesnt know spit about how metal fatigue happens. I laughed, shook my head, said what a joke, and turned his video off. I cant be bothered with anything...

Concrete isnt ever dead level. Unless you payed big dollars or it was a gubmint contract. Thats why you go get 4 cheapo spirit levels from harbor freight, and tape them in place as follows one across rear transition pan with trunk mat out, one across the top inner lip of the radiator support...

Make sure that car is jacked and leveled to square before swapping a floorpan and doing subframe connectors. If it's not level and you install them it will stay crooked.

Best sleeper out there too. A peeling paint 1969 dart 270 more door 440/4speed/8.75 minitubbed combo with full wheel covers would the cats meow.

Keep hearing about frame twist with 440s

Take that 440 you have and install an aluminum water pump housing, and aluminum intake manifold. Get rid of the cast iron pieces. That should lighten it up a bit and get it closer to the 360 weight. Aluminum heads will lighten it up even further.

Maistrelli why do you disagree with that statement? I subscribe to the thought process that YOU as the end assembler of it are the LAST line of defense ! I work in the aviation industry. I take NOTHING for granted when putting something together. Oh it's the other guys job to do this or that...

    BB K ADVANTAGE

Stock mopar K ?? If so they are all pretty much all made the same with exception of motor mounts location/configuration. I just converted a 67 slant sux K into a small block V8 k. Not sure about big block ones, however anytime your going to put a big block in an A body, its like stuffing 10 lbs...

Newer 2 bolt aluminum master cylinder for BB A-body

I have an aftermarket stock replacement 1&1/32" bore master cylinder from a diplomat M body. Its aluminum, and came with a pushrod o ring and the master cylinder bore is set up with a groove for an o ring. I will be running 2.75" piston calipers so it should work fine with those. I only know of...
