It's really going to depend on which intake you use. Than if you want to run an air cleaner you may need a drop base, etc depending on how much clearance you have.

That's how most tracks and big $ races are, but the 2 tracks I race at the buy backs go right into 2nd round with everyone else. The one track even gives you extra points if you lose 1st rd and buy back and win. You actually get more points than if you lost 2nd round without buying back.
