    A903 to A833

Have the linkage adjusted by a shop that's familiar with old cars. If your car is a floor shift 3sp its easy to go 4sp. If it's a column shift 3sp you need more stuff. But from what you say, they greased the linkage and now the not-quite-right adjustments are not proving usable. So get that...

ok, why are 360 flywheels so expensive

It's more money because it's a nuetral flywheel with more labor into it to get the balance right.

    Bolt size question...

I'm asking because the other bells I have (haven't checked the slanty ones...) are all 7/16-14 but the one I'm holding had the holes heli-coiled to 3/8-16. Again - these are the bolts that hold the transmission to the bell. Not bell to block.

    Bolt size question...

On the early iron big block bells, p/n 2488372, can someone give me the bolt size and thread for the transmission mounting bolt holes? I think they should be 7/16-14 but not sure... anybody know offhand?

    A833 trans alignment issue? Help

There is no reason why you should have to pull the tranny in place into the bellhousing bore. Take some light sandpaper and clean any paint or crap off the inside of the bore and the outside of the front bearing retainer. If you have to force anything - something's wrong. I have some longer...

    A833 trans alignment issue? Help

Unless that bellhousing was the numbers matching one for that engine block, it should be checked for runout. Max allowable is .005" IIRC. Any more and you may experience engagement/disengagement/shifting issues. You also may be just fine. But - it will depend on the clutch and the transmission...

    Too much torque

You may also want to look into your pinion angle. I've run 500pound feet of torque thru the small joint/yoke before with no issues. Right now there's a larger joint 4sp/dana combo in a heavier car making close 600tq. So you might want to look into driveline angles and how the rear moves when you...

How does the Hurst shifter work?

Chances are if it's sloppy it's done and needs parts. I think it's less than $100 to have Hurst rebuild it properly. You can take it apart, clean and greas it, but I don't believe you can get the wearing hard parts alone. I may be wrong it's been a while.

    t5 trans swap?

737, I walked thru the place with John about 3 years ago. Very nice spot, some nice iron, and nice people there. I know he's added to staff since I was there...lol. Furious, You'd have to modify a /6 bell because of the starter placement an angle. I think for you the T5 is a good option and...

    t5 trans swap?

The bellhousing is off Ebay.. $35 with the fork. Application is '93 Dakota w/3.9L 5sp. The trans in the Dakotas is an AX15. It is not a good trans to use because its weak. But, the bell fits the other transmission of the same manufacturer... The trans you want is the R154, and the manufacture is...

    t5 trans swap?

It uses the 143 tooth truck neutral flywheel and stock 10.5" pressure plate. Needs to be a diaphram type cover, but I like centerforce and thats what they are. Clutch master and slave need to be figured out. The exh might be fun to come come up with. But it's fairly simple from what they say...

    t5 trans swap?

There was a topic on Mopart about using a Toyota trans for this swap.. Needless to say, I got sucked in and bought one yesterday... It's a Supra Turbo R154 5sp, rated for 350-400hp, but withstands much higher (like 5-600 w/big turbos) uses Mopar bell, fork, TO bearing, and flywheel. So far, I'm...
