    65 Barracuda repairs

Pretty quarters...lol. If I've removed 10lbs of filler off this car thus far I think. At least 10lbs.

    65 Barracuda repairs

Finally got a chance to get back to the garage... Repaired the pass side trunk extension, and the Layson's rear quarter repair panel. The panel is not a terribly good execution, and I have had to section it to make it fit properly. Not a huge deal, and typical for the mid-price-point panels I've...

    65 Barracuda repairs

So, spent the weekend working on the rear end of the car... At least three separate impacts, and one hidden on the rh corner... So a bit of dent removal via bfh work, prybars, and my favorite bodyworking hammers and dollies and it's straight. Still need some fabrication in a few spots but it's...

    65 Barracuda repairs

Have had some time and more motivation lately... Fixed the RH fender, ordered up the quarter panels repairs sections for both sides (thanks Layson's), and started straightening the LH fender. "winter" is over, and I need to get back to the Imperial so this one will get the steel work done, the...

    65 Barracuda repairs

Update - I haven't really been in the work on cars stuff lately. But I managed to finish the rough in of the engine mounts so it's bolted in and all on rubber mounts. Next step is pulling it and working the right inner fender to give more space for the headers.

Let the Fun Begin - 1965 Barracuda Project

Don't sandblast the insides of the covers. If you can tape off the insides and holes and blast the outsides. Otherwise you will need to cut out he baffles to get the sand out of the crap that's inside them.

    65 Barracuda repairs

So a few years have passed and I was looking for something of my own to work on over the winter so the little '65 is back in the garage. I finished stripping the filler and 80 different paint jobs off it. Discovered the rust isn't as bad as I thought in the back, but there are a few injuries...

    65 Barracuda repairs

So here's some pictures... Starting with what she looked like, and what lay underneath. It looked good enough for me when I got her. I cleaned a bit, tuned a bit, and drove her for a couple summers. But - I knew there was filler and it was starting to show, and last year January I had a serious...

    65 Barracuda repairs

Seems like only yesterday I was working on this car...lol. Not sure what the plan is now that it's a year into it. I have (finally!) located and bought two good rear quarter sections of other cars so I'll have all my good steel for the rear. I'm tossing around two ideas.. One is to restore the...

    65 Barracuda repairs

Well, I don't think I ever planned to have a "resto thread" on this car - but things got out of hand and now my project has become a PROJECT. Pics will accompany when I remember to upload all from my camera. It started with wanting to do the front end, replace slant 6 with a 273, and paint the...

    SS Slant Six Dart

regardless of mounts there's movement and pleanty of vibration there. That little pinch makes a 3/8 fuel line flow like a 1/8" line. You've do better to have a straight peice of steel line to the fenderwell, then a 90° in it, so the rubbr is a straight shot to the carb line. Anything's better...

    SS Slant Six Dart

Kid - you know that fuel deliery issue you've been chasing - That rubber fuel line from the regulator to the carb feed line - First, that's a lot of motion for such a small section of rubber to handle ove rthe long term. Second - It's got a big kink... Replace it with braided or use a 90° nipple...

    73 Duster Restoration

Car looks good Adam. Kinda boring for up here tho...lol. Looks like the primer might have been sprayed when it was too cold and not allowed to cure? I've got my buddy's Gremlin in the garage and I'm doing the blocking now... So I feel your pain. He bought the Summit paint system. I let the...
