    Starting a BB Duster project

Governor regulates line pressure to "communicate" to the valve body when to shift. It is a weight centrifugally working against a spring. The valve body doesn't need that signal if it is manually actuated. Rotating dead weight, the worst kind.

    Starting a BB Duster project

I have the FAST XFI 2.0 w/ the ITC option. It takes the electronic speed output from my transmission, definitely plan on using it. It also has the option of using an E-85 sensor.

    Starting a BB Duster project

325s fit with ease... A few pictures of the process and an old picture with a 325/50-15 before clean up and paint. The launch was butal and the 1-2 shift put the keys and the key cylinder in the back seat on my first test drive with 325 drag radials. With the 295s I'm using now to roll the car...

Actually tunnel rams can have pretty good drive ability. Choose a cam that matches with the torque converter, gears, and compression. Tunnel ran will be fine. Use smaller tunnel ram oriented carbs for your street build and you will be fine. Like these: Holley 0-8007 390 CFM Classic Holley...

Just another build thread - Sort my combo!

People have raced 904s behind big blocks, and they rebuild them. I thought they used adapter plates, but haven't done it so not sure. For what we are doing here not worth the effort unless you are going to buy the good race parts and you are trying to get a few more hundredths off your 60 ft...

Just another build thread - Sort my combo!

Overall sound advice... one other I would mention: I've run Coan Converters and recommended them to others, always turned out good. Very high quality and efficient. The Edelbrock RPM will work just fine with either of those two camshafts and a 3.73 gear. Should be a good combo. I have run...

Show Your Big Block A body!

Pretty simple concept. Split the inner and move it flush to the frame then fill the gap. My inners were chewed up from a back yard job a friend and I did 25 years ago, so when I painted the car I bought new inners and we did it much cleaner this time. Underneath: From the trunk: Clearance...

Mopar has had some of the coolest intakes! Here is my new intake. Mopar part # P3690982. I had it converted to EFI by F&B Performance. And without the air cleaner:

I attempted this on my ‘68 Barracuda in 1990 and the hood braces needed trimming to clear. I think the air cleaner still touched the hood. It was an original cast iron intake and air cleaner from a super bee that a friend was restoring so I was just doing a test fit with a junk hood, I was...

My son (12 at the time) and I installed the engine in the garage using two furniture dollies, a pair of jack stands and a floor jack. Same way we pulled the engine. You roll the assembly under, line everything up, and lower the body with the floor jack. Hood on of course.

Still working on mine... first two pictures from 2004 and 2007, followed by a picture of the engine which was the same from 2001 to 2013. Next two car pictures are the car from earlier this year after the new paint (dusty in the pictures, but you get the idea) and the last is the engine this...

    cams

The next step after the power valve if it is still running too rich is to start stepping down in jet size. Without a wideband you can read the plugs - but you have to be very regimented. Make a pass, cut the engine, do not idle back to the pits, pull a plug and check it. Probably better to just...

    cams

RPM will tell you your horsepower. You can make adjustments to the timing or other changes and see if your mph goes up or down. With a good launch your mph and ET will move in oposite directions. I ran my 440 with a 509 (back in the day) at closer to 36 total. If you do not get detonation with...

    2X - yikes! 600hp + 200hp N2O probably not a good idea on a stock rod.

    67 Dart 440 headers

If you are RHD then good luck! No idea what will / can fit. If you are talking about a US made A-body with LHD, then the Schumaker headers are a drop in for an automatic and can be made to fit with the manual.

    Bolt on Fuel injection?

At that price point I would investigate the EZ EFI set-up. The total kit for the EZ EFI would run maybe $400 - $500 more, but appears to be a much better system. If you speak to Rich he can tell you the differences and what you would get for the money. http://www.fastmanefi.com/EZEFI-1.htm...

Max RPM on mostly stock 400?

Oiling would be my biggest concern. I had a 383 that liked 7000+ but it eventually could not keep oil fed to the last pair of rod journals. My 440 has HV pump, extra capacity pan with trap doors and kick outs, and 1/2" pick-up. 440 has Eagle rods, light weight Ross pistons, 0.990" pin...
