could be : Needle and seat bad Float level too high Fuel pressure too high. My guess is the last one. Eddy carbs only like 5.5 lbs. I have had to use a regulator for my Eddy even with a stock 273 pump!!

We have an 800cfm Eddy 1812 on our 360. Stock magnum with a mild cam. Many said it would be too big but it's not. runs perfect . Didn't even adjust the air door...

U got a big washer on the engine side of the firewall too? On our '66 Cuda the cable angles down as it goes thru, that would make it line up with the pedal. I would not modify the pedal for the cable. What if you need to go back to the Factory cable at some point?
