    383 vs 400

The owners of Spook's Customs in San Antonio had one in a Savoy and I actually was blessed by getting to ride in it twice during the Bun & Barrel cruise in San Antonio. That car is a sucker punch if you're not paying attention.

    383 vs 400

I had both to choose from, I built the 400 and cleaned and bagged the 440.

    400's are they any good?

400 blocks are much stronger than 440's and especially 383's. I love the 383 (got one I'm driving now) but for sheer strength it can't hold a candle to the 400 block, any 400 block!

    400's are they any good?

400's are very good foundations to make potent powerplant. Very strong and are easily stroked.

    383 vs 400

to the original poster... if you plan on running a stock mill I'd take the 383, peppy performance and revs pretty good to boot. If you are gonna do some mods, I'd definitely take the 400. Incredible potential and 499/500 cubes is as easy as falling off a log! And like Stroker Scamp I have a...

    RB VS B Blocks

for big power stroker applications I'll take a 400 over a 440 any day. Love my RB's but B's hold up better in high HP applications. Shorter block means stiffer cylinders plus look at the meat where the crank sets to the cylinder wall on the RB's versus the B blocks...
