My AC/DC clamp showed up today...It has it's own battery supply and the green button is the power button...the yellow knob is to zero it out....will test it tomorrow...

Okay here we go with the amp readings...zero it out then 1 mv equals 1 amp

Amp tested HHR fan first....zeroed out...

Mezziere 35 gpm electric water pump they say 6 to 7 amps..I got 8.3 amps..may be because it was dead heading against the thermostat...:read2:

Glad to see the fan only draws 14 amps.

A couple weeks ago I was racing in brutal conditions . 96 degrees and tons of humidity . Un-bearable .
The ol HHR fan did great , i think the highest temp i got was 205 or so .

koool man love that spolier,,,often wondered if you could still get those,, wonder how it would look on my baracuda

So, anything new to report? Have you taken her out and put some mileage on her in traffic?

Yep

Nice little ride tonight....
Success....had a very nice successful ride tonight....
Tonight I got home a 8:00...still light out so 5th maiden cruise....backed out of the driveway...shifted into first...then second and at 20 mph second gear is nice and plenty when making non-stopping turns..from a complete stop start in first for sure then yank backwards into second and then yank it once more in third...got it up to 55 mph for a 1/4 mile and then turned back into subdivision...putted back into garage...was surprised to see the following....

it's a dark picture but you get the point getting lower on gas...and...

two little clicks past the first line...according to my last reading with my thermal gun that would be around 160 degrees...don't know if timing change...snow shovel or racing washer helped?

Went to my storage and had a HOAT getting the freaking water pump housing off but did it...now remember that this came out of a 1973 Winnebago so it is a little different...first glance a thermostat and I would have to say Milodon HF...is also has the return on the passenger's side and extra holes in the front that were plugged...it took a 9/16" socket and a 1/2" breaker bar to bust loose a couple of bolts...with my middle finger test all of the openings seemed to be a little larger than Mancini's but only by a CH....it is ugly and anyone has one day to decide if they want it free minus postage....

This next one has me baffled...very big opening here compared to the aluminum ones that have one tiny hole?

Just to throw this into the mix, I've heard that Ford Crown Vics have dual fans that push 4000 cfm and are pretty easy to modify to fit just about anything. supposedly they are very easy to find at the local you-pull-it too.

Just food for thought is all.
which years???

Eric what year of fan did you get from the HHR and what radiator are you using Diminsions wise that is. Also what wiring did you need from the HHR?

Radiator is from Summit sum-380460 and they have the measurements listed.....

I used a Derale relay and probe fan control from Summit for the fan control along with a 30 amp thermal breaker from local parts store

I hope this helps and please rate this thread better than average if it helped you out....take care
