I have found out every pump should be taken apart and checked. I have never bought a new oil pump that didn't have left over metal in them. It plugs the pump and causes low pressure clean it and they again it fixed my problems 99% of the time.

I saw an article in Mopar muscle that showed 90s swirl port heads have more potential than xheads buy them from a junk yard and get some work done they will be way better.

Had that problem with an old 360 I used the rubber kind and it worked great

get a late 80s early 90s 360 with roller cam. still an LA motor easy to build lots of potential. I just did the same for my 72 duster. check local cl and junkyards they are cheap and a good yard will give you a warrantee on them.

I'd still check the 89 out first since it will have the roller cam

well I had heard it is easier to run a turbo on exhaust than the carb what's the difference between having a turbo blow or one that sucks? idk thought if it is easier it might help the original poster

Sounds like you're Speedo is slipping teeth pull the cable check it and the in side of Speedo might just need a new cable mine was doing the same thing new cable and it works great now
