    Dash Paint

I painted a dash piece with the SEMS Trim Black and it turned out fine, nice black semi gloss. Months later, I painted a dash piece and it turned out a really flat black. I contacted SEMS Tech Line and was told that humidity will have an effect on the paint finish and very high humidity will...

Grant 846 Tuff Wheel install question

I did that same install last winter. IIRC for my 68 Barracuda I had to buy the Grant install kit to get the circular plastic piece that the horn button of the Tuff wheel mounts to. The OE 68 Barracuda steering wheel system did not include that part.

    DMT Overlays

As mentioned in post #24 I made a gauge / switch panel and covered it with the same material that DMT uses for the dash overlay. I wanted a more subdued dash appearance so I used the flat black vinyl. The front is a 1/4 inch thick aluminum plate with the vinyl overlay. I needed the thickness to...

    DMT Overlays

The DMT material is vinyl, .020 or so thick. I contacted DMT late last year to get the name of the material supplier as I was building a gauge - switch mount for the 68 Barracuda to go in place of the center counsel and I wanted the appearance to match the DMT dash overlays. They got me the...

    DMT Overlays

I have a set of the DMT dash overlays for the rally dash in the 68 Barracuda. I have ‘set’ them in place and they look fantastic. It looks to me that the overlays cover over a few of the screws that would need to be removed in order to remove the gauge cluster. So I am thinking of using strips...

Power Bucket Seat in an A Body?

I also put a pair of Chrysler Sebring seats in my 68 Barracuda. The driver side seat was powered the passenger side was manual. The nice thing about the Sebring seats is they have the shoulder harness in the seat back, so if your car does not have shoulder belts, the Sebring seat is an easy way...

    Sill Trim Finish

Here in Indy there is a shop that does plating that can also strip anodizing and then put it back on. Having the anodizing removed makes it really easy to polish the aluminum to a bright luster. Having the part re anodized keeps the luster without having to periodically wax the parts.

    Speedometer Repair - Referral Request

    Good to know....

".I can feel it. About then some other folks walked end and our conversation ended." a sign that the shop you used does not give beans about your business. Sounds like you already paid so they were done with you and ready to move on to the next customer. I would never pay full for something so...

Mopar Tuff Wheel, what horn button kit?

Hello, I have a new Grant Tuff Wheel and recently purchased an OE adapter here on FABO. My question is, what horn button kit is the right one? Classic Industries shows this one MW931 - 1968-78 Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth; Horn Switch; with Plastic Tuff Wheel Horn Cap Retainer said to fit a 68...

    Brake/clutch pedal question

I would think that you could just swap in the automatic pedal, however A body 4 speed pedal assemblies are bringing over 100.00 when sold. You could probably pick up a clean brake pedal assembly for very little cash. To me it would be worth the money to remove the brake and clutch pedal assembly...

Will this Tuff Wheel adapter work ?

Your profile photo shows a second generation Barracuda. Did you modify the adapter to make it fit? How? Did you use an aftermarket or a mopar OE adapter and do you think they are the same? Thanks

Will this Tuff Wheel adapter work ?

Considering putting a Grant Classic Nostalgia Tuff Wheel on the 68 Barracuda. I have read several posts here at FABO that the Grant adapter part number 4313 will put the steering wheel too close to the dash and the best fit is with using an OE style Tuff Wheel adapter. Will this aftermarket one...

    Seat Belt Retractor

Hello, installing seat belts with shoulder restraint in the Fast Back 68 Barracuda. This ‘68 was built in Oct of ‘67. Had the roof brackets, but not the mounting nut, I have that resolved. My question is where is the seatbelt retractor mounted? I am using a set of belts from Westco. They...

Shoulder belt attachment on 68 post Dart

Cars built on or after 1-1-1968 and sold in the USA were required to have three point belts for the driver and outboard passenger. My 1968 Barracuda built in October of 1967 had the upper shoulder harness mounting bracket, hidden behind the headliner. That bracket did not have a threaded nut...

Fast back second generation Barracudas did not have the traditional dome light up in the center of the inside roof. They have lights mounted in the C pillars. The wiring harness for the C pillar lights branches off the tail light harness.

Window crank spacers 1968 Barracuda Fastback

Finishing the interior, I have three window crank spacers, One is thicker than the other two. See photo. What is correct for my car, are the front and back different thicknesses? Or are they all the same and somehow one got mixed in. I know I am missing one set of window crank-spacer, IIRC it...

    Speedo and fuel gauge replacement

About any 50 year old speedometer is going to need to be cleaned and lubricated. Even if you buy another speedo head, chances are it will need some kind of service. I have had two vintage speedometer heads serviced by Deluxe Speedometer in Denver CO. I found them to have reasonable turn around...

    69 Barracuda dash help/opinions

That is indeed a major hack on a Rally Dash,,, is that really a 200 MPH Speedo?? Everything they have does...

    Installed New Carpet from ACC

inner carpet sill plates. Bumpers are chrome, the inner sill plates are anodized aluminum. The anoziding process puts a micro thin layer on the surface of the aluminum to stop corrosion, unfortunately the discoloration that forms under it is also protected by the anodizing. The trick to get a...

‘68 Barracuda Fastback rear trim fasteners

The tip on the 665-2829 clips was right on. jazak5, thank you very much. I installed new ACC carpet in the 68 Barracuda and the issue is the covering for the sheet metal over the rear wheel wells is the same as the floor carpet. The OE material is much thinner. The OE clips are too short when...

‘68 Barracuda Fastback rear trim fasteners

Reinstalling the backseat trim in the fastback 68 Barracuda. For the trim that goes around the rear covered panels, what holds the trim in place? Certainly there are screws that mount the fabric covered rear side panels,, is there a clip that goes under the screw head and slides into the trim.
