A wider gear range for the big block. So a big block b or e body 833 might be the right one.

O.K,so obviously one which came from an A body is going to work. The thing is,I'm going big block. Not a lot of factory 833's gonna fit this application,so wondering what other options will work and what mods are needed. B-E trans work at all?

Funny,this post just answered the same questions I have. Not having any real experience with manual mopar trans,I was about to ask almost the same thing.

I guess if your looking to sell it,the value would be affected. But it still is obviously a workable useable unit.

Expensive trans. 200R4 fits with only a custom cross member and an adaptor for the bell pattern. Plus it holds more power....

K now I remember the discussions we had about the 4l80 trans. Yes your right,it's plenty tough enough.My poor mans o.d granny tranny 833 will do for me I guess. I will keep my eyes peeled for the deal of a century on anything with better ratio's!

Have a look at the big block dart websight T-56 thread. Theres a really great pic of the trans mounted up and the tunnel cut away. The shifter is right where it should be.In fact quick time sells a bell housing to bolt up the T-56 to a mopar big block.
