Man,not to thread jack,but i have a 8 1/4. Was told its a 3.23 but it cant be! on the highway at 60mph it sits just over 2000. An in 1st i cant hit 55 /60 mph at 6000rpm! It really needs gears to wake her up. She still chalks no problems tho haha!

Can you interchange 27 to 29 spline without a problem? Its a 999 behind a 360 that i think is very close to 400hp... I want to put slicks on it an race it but i rekon shel go bang... Wel see lol Il get back to you in 2 weeks about it!

While were on the topic, how many splines are is a 8 1/4 axle? An how much HP would be safely put behind an 8 1/4 diff? Dont know much about them an since i bought a car with one it with good power im kinda worried lol

At least yous fellas get good prices on danas an 8 an 3/4 diffs! here in australia, everyone goes 9inch cuz its readily available,easier to get parts for an alot cheaper than mopar rear ends. Here is my question, whats a 9 inch weigh,an 8 3/4 weigh, an what does an dana 60 weigh?
